WHY DID I CLICK THAT LINK
The main reason for this (atm) is because Valve have just left TF2, the beta seems to have been an utter waste of time (from what ive seen).
This is the main problem.They should release the next update and fix the Fan in a proper way.
I hope they are coming back to tf2 since l4d2 is now finished
