“Note #2: If a division has two or more dropped teams by the end of the Season, additional relegation spots for this division may be added!”

As I was randomly goin through the rules again. I noticed this rule, which I’m almost certain, wasn’t there at the start of the season.

Even if it was there, it’s a ridiculous rule. Almost every season in almost every division there are usually 2 dropped teams, so this gives the admin a wildcard to add any relegation spot at the end of the season.

Basically the admins wanna punish the remaining teams for staying alive and add more relegation spots. It’s the remaining teams fault that some other teams in their division folded, so they should pay some more with the extra chance of being relegated.

Not only is it a ridiculous rule, it’s even more ridiculous the admins added this rule after many people were already surprised about the admins trying to change the relegation spots at the end of last season.

REMOVE THIS STUPID RULE AND STOP SCREWING WITH THE RELEGATION SYSTEM MID SEASON, kthxbai!

Wait, does this mean that for instance where normally the 2 teams ending 9th and 10th relegate, but if 2 teams folded during the season the 8th and 7th teams relegate instead?

H!

Quick message to admins:
When you announce changes and everyone tells you it’s stupid, the good option is NOT to do those changes secretly.
The right choice is too stop making stupid changes :)

I think it’s a good rule if it’s implemented correctly. It says “may be added”, so I’m hoping that his means admins will study the division, see how strong the teams that dropped were, and base whether to add a relegation slot on those variables. If the two strongest teams drop then there is definitly cause to add a new relegation spot, otherwise the balance of said division will be offset next season (two good teams out, all shit teams stay, more shit teams come in). If two weak teams drop then, again I’m hoping, they’d have the sense to not add a relegation spot as it’s likely the dropped teams would have occupied the relegation slots anyway.

This all depends on admins having a clue though, which sadly isn’t always the case.

Ofcourse we won’t add relegation spots if the 9th and 10th placed teams drop

ofcourse you didnt do this last season :)

edit: you prlly meant, it wont happen if the worst teams of that div drop.
It shouldnt happen at all, adding relegation spots mid season is wrong

any word on this silly rule?

M0re

what kaidus said basicly.

Waster

There are probably a lot of teams who survived for ages in division 3. Because at least three teams in each division drop they survived with one win or draw in the whole season. The top of a division should have roughly the same skill as the bottom of the next division.

I think a better rule is that no new team can enter in div3 or higher. There are enough good teams in the lower divisions. Div3 and higher should be for the stable teams.

so you wanna base a rule on opinions of admins? that would be the most stupid idea since hitler attacked russia.

I mean, mebe all of you admins have a clue of what’s goin on in each division and sub division (i dont think thats the case, just to many teams/divisions). So you have an idea bout who’s the strongest, but your fellow admin thinks differently, now what?

I feel this is a “legitimate” way to drop certain teams to a lower division, after all it is based on opinions.

It doesn’t even say how many spots can be added maximally added, for all we know you add 8 relegation spots to piss off every team in that division.

A GOOD RULE DOESNT HAVE ANY GREY AREAS, fyi

farm!
it's a farm

The note was added on 23.09. when we announced all Season 6 rules.

Background of this note: At the start of every Season we get _many_ requests of new teams who want to play in the Division they belong to (mostly ‘potential’ Div 2 and 3 teams). For example we had over 10 requests for two open Div 2 spots in S6.
The general whine about us putting new teams at the wrong level (e.g. Monster Munch @ Div 3 in S6) is pretty big every time.
This note was added to give us the opportunity to be more flexible at seeding divisions. I agree on the ppl who said its some kind of unfair. But in my view its also bad if a team who finishs the Season with 0-3 points doesn’t get relegated due to two other folded teams in the first two weeks.

Anyway we have noticed the criticism in here and will discuss it inside the staff.

What is needed is a mathematical way of deciding how badly a team has done…can someone come up with an uber complicated equation please so this isn’t just down to individual opinion? I’m pretty sure its possible, just need to take into account how many teams dropped etc….:P

Wow, double post? Coding isn’t perfect on this site…

the rule is good,
but could be better:
with doing relegation matches for the teams who thought they are safe,
so the new and the old teams have the fair chance to fight for the spot
but maybe there isnt always the time for it (extra week)
