What’s this online message underneath people’s avatars, and why is it only for random people and not for everyone?

Yea, does it say anything if you are in game?
Whyy have the time stamp? Why not just “Online”? And does it count for simply having the site open in your browser, or actually doing stuff on it?
It shows who has visited the website in the last 5 minutes. (aka who is online)
This was mainly meant to be used for the ladder (to show which team has a leader online), but it can serve other purposes aswell. (like this one)
Oh, and it updates on every pageload.

It was added partly for the Ladder, to enable teams to see when opponents were online so they could try and get quick ladder matches :)
I’m sure ST8 will fill everyone in with the rest.

can i opt out? i’m not a leader and i’d like to choose myself if i want to appear online :] doesn’t matter if i’m a leader really, cause you can probably find ladder games in #tf.wars too

The idea is for quick challenges for the ladder. It shows you which teams have leaders / arrangers online (green star) on the ladder page. It shows logged in users on the forums and on team pages as well atm. Maybe ill just show it on the Ladder page if people dont like it on the forums
