Ok just reinstalled windows xp 64bit installed mumble and I have the problem that when I’m ingame it lowers my ingame sound when anyone talks.

I’ve enabled the expert config, gone to audio output and tried to change the “Other Applications” slider which is at 50% but it’s greyed out and no matter what I try I can’t change it.

Any ideas because it’s really annoying :|

I don’t know anything about xp x64, but there is a similar feature in win7

in win7: control panel->sound->communications tab “do nothing”

It’s an option in mumble 1.1.8.
Or use 1.1.4 if you can’t find it.

I can’t remember if it’s a mumble option or win7 option. I use win7 since the beta and i had the same problem configuring mumble. I solved it but i can’t really remember where i found that option. There’s a a specific option, i guess, in win 7 to solve the problem. Try control panel > audio > manage audio devices and check all the options

It’s not changeable on XP. It’s greyed out for everybody. So maybe start using 1.1.4 is the best option :P

Ahh this problem!

Basically windows thinks of Mumble as a “voice call”, to fix it, you right click the sound icon in the system tray, go to playback devices, then go to the “communications” tab, and then set the option to do nothing!

thought this only applies for windows 7, does winxp have the same “feature” ?
