After entering my SteamID on my account, I tried to get on the etf2l public server, and was told that my SteamID isnt whitelisted. Can anyone tell me what this means, and how to “get it” whitelisted?
Thanks in advance

did you wait 24 hours? takes some time for the list to update
Yh, its been about 3 weeks now lol
You entered your SteamID as: 1:0:16737882
As far as I know no TF2 SteamIDs start with 1:
Double check it.

Hmm, thats the one I got from typing status in console whilst in game, but yh, Ill check it – is there anyway of entering it again if I have got it wrong?

Ask an admin in IRC and they should be able to sort it out.
They recommend not starting a new account if you can. ;)
Cool, cheers for the help guys, much appreciated
I manually checked the local database for the steam_id entered on the page, it is present.
Your steamID is probably 0:0:[number] instead of 1:0:[number] .
Check that and I’ll change it.
0 Individual / Unspecified
1 Public
As its known there cant be Public steam id just individual.
STEAM_1 and STEAM_0 is exactly the same. It just means user account.
It is game dependant, in L4D, all steamids are STEAM_1. In other games, it’s STEAM_0.
That number doesn’t really matter, you could even change your server to set it to 1337.

This is more a question than a statement, but will it not be the case that the server will still check if(“STEAM_0:blah” == “STEAM_1:blah”) as the TF2 server still sees a 0 prefix ID?
