Just because the slots are full doesn’t mean that new teams aren’t needed. It was already pointed out that more stable, active teams are needed. I can’t recall the exact numbers, but taking hundreds of teams to the league means there will be loads of teams that just simply don’t care enough to even play their matches, without even mentioning having good manners and other things.

Promoting the league would increase the number of applicants, which would introduce more competition to getting the slots, which would make people care about their slots. Which would make a more competitive league that would be taken more seriously. Which would result in more e-sports coverage. Which would lure the sponsors in.

Not the right place to post this, but just wanted to share that Mike Booth (Valve) promoted competitive tf2 on the tf2 blog :)

I must say i think having the ladder on the side is a good idea, i know alot of clans (ok 4) which didnt make it into last season, like someone said its one hell of a buzz kill if theres nothing worth competing for over such a long period of time like a season and a the rest gap.

During big STV games, there is always a 2-5 minute gap between map changes. Last night when Dignitas played Vale, there was a period of 2-5 mins between Granary and Badlands where the viewer can see the following message: “waiting for broadcast to start.”

This would be a perfect time to play advertisements. These advertisements would be viewed by nearly 1000 viewers.

There are so many ways in which STV and casting of games can be improved. One is mentioned above. Another would be to stop the constant server crashes.

You must be some sort of irrational special person. If you would rather watch a blank screen then sure, whatever floats your boat. Most people wouldn’t care because they have lost nothing, but gained a lot (for their community).

This is a nice thread but there’s one thing that needs to be said.

If you want any of these things done (a ladder, lower div coverage, podcast, etc) you need to step up and do it yourself. You don’t have to be an ETF2L admin, if what you want to see is better match coverage, write it and send it to them. Don’t wait around for others to volunteer their time.

A little bit of initiative goes a long way.

Did you have to ruin a perfectly good thread by taking your little private war into this ?
I mean if you have a problem with him talk it out in pm’s, no need to get a thread with some nice ideas and go on another flame rampage…
