I think that is a very naive thought. It takes a lot of time and effort to secure deals like this. If somebody was going to “help” they would of by now

And yes I agree with you about etf2l admins. My previous post wasn’t a rant :)

You do have to question whether the owners and admins of ETF2L want a business, or a hobbie. For a hobbie, ETF2L is a complete success as far as I’m concerned. It is whether they want to turn this hobby into a small income generator.

Like the betting idea an old TFC league had a pool going where each week you put win lose draw on each game etc then had a table for it who predicted most right through the season i guess its tricky too do as alot of coding, be fun too see a list for each game that week 70% think FB will beat dignitas etc all the way down the divisions would give lower teams a bit of exposure as people might check out results and such to work out who would win if it ment that much, but like i said i guess alot of coding needed or summit.

ctfcl was the league i think! :o

If we had the resources, actually create a PUBLIC ETF2L public server – like, all players. Have constant ads play over again (not TOO constant obviously). Would probably be advised for loads of players from the league to actually join the server to get it started – perhaps they could have a special symbol on the scoreboard to show they’re from the league (possible?).

I like this. There is no point in promoting etf2l.org or whatever if tf2 doesn’t have a huge playerbase. If we start drawing in more players tf2 will get more noticed in the e-sports scene. I hear Portuguese players play with pub-players every so often to get the interested in 6v6. At the GoT server and forum we try to get people to play a 6v6 pcw to get to know what it’s like. Things like that should be a priority. You need a player base to draw attention. And only when you have a good player base sponsors and what not will show up. Maybe create a cup where total newcomers can duke it out under the watchful eye of a more experienced player (as a coach or as a medic).

As has been mentioned numerous times previously. This site has reached its max in terms of teams registered for season 5. Sponsors don’t just appear. You have to sell them your product/service. This site has more than enough hits and players registered already to start actively searching for sponsors.

TF2’s problem is they always compare themselves to other e-sports communities. TF2 is a smaller community than CS:S – fact. However, this site is much bigger and better than a lot of CS:S leagues (I am assuming this due to 250 teams signed up with 6+ players per team roughly 2000 regular users). Instead of trying to sell TF2 to sponsors, try and sell the actual product to them (this site). Businesses don’t care about games, they care about money.

If we want more teams to play we need to increase the number of teams that can play in the seasons. We can’t sit here and say “We want more people to play!!!” when all the teams that wanted to play in season 5 wasn’t allowed.

Maybe we have to live with the fact that there are alot of clans that will fold in the seasons. I surtenly don’t think it’s right to not let clans play just because there are clans folding. I can’t think of a more buzz killing answer to a clan that wants to start with 6v6 than: “Sorry our season is full please try again in 6 months.”

If the problem is management, then get some more admins and folks to take care of the website. I’m sure there are plenty around that can do that.

this league really cant be made any bigger, its obviously at a max…cant say i ever experienced any leagues in cs/css that actually have as many active and commited teams as ive seen in etf2l

I would like a small betting system, with virtual money. You can bet on any result that does not include your team :) And make that betting system available for anybody, not just participants.

i think this is a really great idea

So it becomes obvious, we need more leagues and cups!

Sorry for going a bit off topic here but why is it obviously at a max? Just because there aren’t any bigger leagues doesn’t mean this league cant grow.
