ok here goes my rant:

Pub noobs are learning of the etf2l server and are basically signing up to etf2l simply to play there. Many of these people have mentioned this on the server and there are a lot of noobs coming there that have never played in any league play in their life, they just hear about the server through a freind and then go and signup so they can get on.

This defeats the whole purpose of having a filter, i mean the idea was to create a server for competitive league players but now its just turning into a normal pub because these noobs are signing up. Maybe there should be a waiting time before they can come on the server after signing up? Or perhaps they should be registered to a clan and if theyre not in a clan they should be made to wait a while?

Well they could just make a clan themselves so that idea is kinda borked.

But having to signup atleast gets rid of a lot of ‘new players’

and I agree that them wanting to get involved in the competitive side could be good..

I agree with this. The ETF2L pub server was made for comp players to relax and play and a skill level generally higher than other pubs. It wasn’t made for pub players to sign up and try to get better at the game by playing on a pub server with a higher skill level.

Well there could be an option implemented that a newly registered player can go into his profile “Request permission from an administrator to play on the ETF2L pub”
And a group of (admins/moderators) or w/e accept or decline.

But I haven’t really thought this through

Why can’t we just set a delay of about a month from that you signup until you get to play on the server?

This will make the “random” pubbers think twice about signing up cause a month is a long time to wait and it probably isn’t worth it.

One would think that random pubbers getting their arses handed to them because of the higher quality of play would get bored of playing there rather quickly…

Anyway, one of my friends recently signed up on etf2l again, and he is a great teamplayer with comms and past experience on competitive gaming so I don’t think it would be right to prevent him from playing on the server among other newbies, just because he hasn’t been very active until recently…

Put some limit, for example, server is enabled for players who are registered for more than 30 days in league.

minimoose

Votekick which automatically gives them a 10 minute ban. I don’t think I have thought this through at all but oh well. You can only votekick people who haven’t played in one of the 5 seasons?

the irony is that some of these “noobs” are better than high division players

i think its a good opertunity for the top players to promote the league and encorage people to sign up after all there is not much chance of these guys playing in a match against top players

wasnt a guy saying hes got a free server to give away?
make one a pub for “pros” and the other for newly signed up newbies

Stew

How about peoples who have played at least one season or registered 40-50 days ago ? Or something like this
