I believe that would be the social equivalent of making belgium and the netherlands into one team.

On a more serious note, there’s easily enough active high UK players right now to make two teams, play against each other several times and mix up teams between games until the best combination is found.

Would be good practice for whoever turns out to be in starting UK roster, and a lot of fun and banter no doubt. If I were to name a team right now without seeing them play I’d agree with Haunter and most others probably would also, but wouldnt it be better to mix lineups around trying different combinations to see which naturally works best together from the get-go?

Obviously things like scout teamwork, soldier/medic/demo teamwork (who’s aggressive, who is good defensive demo/sol, who likes to whore ubers/heals and who is happy not to be the first man into site etc) can make a huge difference in this game.

I’d like to think I could at least have a chance of playing for a UK team. Even if not I’d happily play with other UK players in mix team for a few days if only just to help the others find the right lineup, practice and get used to the teamwork again.

Also, I only whine in pickups, honest! :) Just throwing it out there.

I can see why some players would be outraged if say I was chosen to play in a UK team instead of some currently active div1 players but imo it should be based on performance within different lineups instead of just scene status, reputation and a feeling that players deserve the spot just for playing in div1 for a long time.

Ultimately everyone wants team UK to front the strongest possible lineup but I’m convinced that just won’t happen if the choices are based on the factors I listed above.

Certainly would be fun/interesting to get 12-18 UK players together, make teams and play against each other every night for a week or so, keeping in mind there will likely be some clashes with commitments to own teams and RL etc.

I doubt that someone who doesnt play active 6v6 (and seldomly participates in pickup games) has a chance at making team UK, we have a nice pool of players to pick from though.. no offense.
