Didnt realize we had mid players caring so much about the low tier.
We care because 1. most of us had to deal with sandbaggers back when we played open, best examples: http://etf2l.org/teams/26758/ and http://etf2l.org/teams/21780/. And 2. just because people nowadays only care about themselves doesn’t mean there are no people that care about others. I am playing in the fresh meat cup, and it would just suck if these players have to play against sandbaggers in the regular season.
The mid winners of last season went 4/3 W/L in high the season before and nobody complained and instead stepped up to the challenge. I honestly don’t know why you would complain about sandbaggers in a division u are not even in, considering that you supposedly don’t care about the game as well?

http://etf2l.org/teams/26684/ – The only thing I see here is a 1 high player, the rest are highlander players of which most were playing mid or high at the time, which is barely even mid 6v6 skill level.
http://etf2l.org/teams/28026/ – Highlander players again, most of which only have mid/high experience and barely any 6v6 experience at all except for one player with mid 6v6 experience. They have now been moved to mid.
http://etf2l.org/teams/27828/ – I honestly feel like at this point you’re worried of people who play engineer and pyro, so you label them as sandbaggers due to how well their HL team plays compared to how they play.
http://etf2l.org/teams/16635/ – They received several hijacking warnings during Season 26, we even gave them a default loss due to this by the end of the main season.
http://etf2l.org/teams/26758/ – Ah, I really love every single time this team is mentioned whenever sandbagging is involved. Because it’s the reason why I want to heavily moderate low and open tiers to not allow stuff like this from happening again. Please note how this was before the other seasons you mentioned.
I didn’t bother to check through the highlander rosters that much since majority of them had dropped from the season or only won two matches out of five, but I can already safely say that people in general should be less trigger-happy whenever they see a player or two from a higher tier play once in a lower tier with friends.
Alright let’s take a look

hl experience barely counts as experience for 6s, and the fact that these teams got beaten in playoffs/during the season pretty much justifies that they’re not sandbaggers

lost a game during season so same logic as above, albeit had 2 players with moderate experience out of 9

not sure why you posted this team who hasn’t even got an official result
Quoted from sasami
could be considered questionable but they still dropped maps so I don’t think it’s a big issue

moderate results when they played and didn’t even get to playoffs

lost during the season and dropped points, only to win vs the team they’ve lost in the finals, don’t think you can call this sandbagging

dropped multiple maps and did moderately well in playoffs, not sandbagging
I could see only one example that maybe proves your point which is one in around 4 seasons? We go through every team that signs up but even we do mistakes sometimes, believe it or not
my point is not to prove that sandbaggers are unbeatable
my point is that you allowed them to play in that division and please don’t try to use the excuse “they did bad” because you couldn’t know before the season started
i can understand you don’t want to check manually every team but at least don’t use random excuses like “they didn’t roll so they are not sandbagging xD” because when you allowed them to play in a lower division you couldn’t know if they were going to win/lose

i’m quite sure that every single player in BETON2 has played above open in the past 3/4 seasons

Not that that is a bad thing though, everyone should care about it to make all games fair and enjoyable for every team, regardless of their division.

What’s the issue with allowing allegedly “sandbagging” teams to a certain tier if they don’t even sandbag, as it has been the case with the majority of the teams you’ve linked.
Point is though, just because a team has players that have slightly higher experience than the average team in that tier doesn’t mean they’ll automatically perform better, since a team with experience as a team will most likely perform better than the team scrambling some slightly better players around to get an edge against their competition.
Seems to me that you just have a bit of an irrational fear of players whose names are more known than others
The gel factor is crucial for a team’s success. It isn’t enough that a team has players who are good at an individual level, you need them to be in the same wave and have a mutual understanding of what they should be doing to best help one another. This is why maptalks are so important and why dominant callers such as Numlocked, KnoxXx and even a coaching Kaidus have been so critical in the formation of the best teams in Europe.
I’ve seen MightyMe play in div5 when he was at the top of his game. Didn’t really make much of a difference.
Now what I can state is that if you have high tier players in lower tiers than the ones they belong then odds are they just wanna dick around for a season, which imo goes against the spirit of competitive but oh well…

the problem is, how do you know they wont win? they do still have an unfair advantage over other teams, why are you trying to make it look like it’s okay? just because most of the sandbaggers don’t win it is okay to have people getting an advantage over new players?
and yeah,i guess any open player would fear the best heavy of season 9/10 or mid7high players
also, the starting point was “we don’t allow sandbaggers” and “only one team has been sandbagging in the past seasons”
TC Spike Himself ” keep in mind that divisions apply to teams and not players…”
Maybe next time you want to make that kind of post you should jsut check the 5-6 exact same threads that we see every seasons, they contain the same kind of answers you got
Wonszu teams are specifically made to bait players into making sandbagging threads :)
Did you check their logs? I quickly checked and most of players in beton2 have logs dating April or start of May and I found none where they played together.
Since I somewhat know these players, at first glance it would look that they are mid because of some experience, but this team would be mid only if these people practiced and wonszu played.
Although beton2 can reach playoffs without much effort, I would rather call them a good low team than sandbaggers. What will most likely happen is this http://etf2l.org/matches/63936/.
