Generally the weaknesses of a soldier can be worked on by having a pyro around, so stick one on the soldier and medic, and they should be good to go.

Just dont try to stand on the medic deflecting anything that comes by, it doesnt work. You have to plan to be aggressive when opportunities come.

Why no? A pyro doesn’t have weapons that require skill, so the only thing that can make you stand out from being a generic idiot with fire is intelligence. If you want to play pyro competitively it requires a dramatically larger quantity of intelligence and sense than, for example, demo. I’m not for a moment suggesting demo is a class for idiots, but the weaponry is substantially more versatile and can get you out of sticky (LOLOLOL) situations that a pyro’s only chance of surviving is being smart and avoiding.

Obviously any idiot can go behind and burn players to shit, but as it has been stated an absurd amount of times any even half-witted team will be able to counter this. Only way to use the class is to outthink the opponent.

Pyro is a great class to play if your team is adapted.

The person who plays it has to know the map VERY well. Especially with the backburner wich is maybe the best weapon to get an opponent down in few secons (critz from behind).

But playing pyro vs a good organised team is on higher levels not done.

Pyro just is too situational. I mean, airblasting and such can be very valuable but most of the time, another solly or scout would be better for sheer killing abilities

Running a pyro sometimes can work out exceptionally well though, if the other team dont expect it, or you defend/attack in a place where the airblast will come in handy (grav C)

Get a hit on scouts with the flaregun on any middle point and watch them run back screamin mediiiiic whilst spam is going on … a joy to behold ! Just stay alive until your pyro makes it there :)

I will think about the situation in my team.
The biggest question this teammate can play pyro very well and solly/scout on one level.
What class solly or scout he need to choose and keep playing with this class.
