I have a question: I dont have two scouts in my team , but i have a good pyro. Not W+M1 ^____^
Is there any need of pyro in ETF2L ?
Is it equal exchange scout -> pyro ?
Can u give some examples please.
Thanks!
P.S. Sorry my english , i am from Ukraine ^_^
pyro is a very good ‘mix it up’ tactic for middle on badlands.
pyro works very well in a last ditch defense on any final cp.
pyro works very well anywhere he can surprise people, which isn’t very often against even a moderately competent team.
A scout switching between scout and pyro might work, but a full time pyro is (probably*) a fail.
*I say probably because idk if anyone other than Kodyl has ever actually tried it?
Stay with your medic, protect him from Scouts, reflect Projectiles, rush with uber in close quarters, create some chaos from behind :P Does work out sometimes
If your wanting to trade a class for pyro as the above post implys you need to trade a soldier, your scout will get utterly raped 2v1 through out most maps if you only play with one.
The bad is that i have two sollys but only one scout %)
So , idea with soldier -> pyro xchange is bad , i think…
And a solly switching to pyro , is that works ?
A scout could switch to pyro in a defensive situation e.g. holding last.
But generally speaking you will need two scouts and a demoman on middle point because they are the fastest there.
A pyro could be implemented but everyone else needs to alter their gameplan to accommodate the lose of a scoutsoldier.
Often a pyro can work well for one or two rounds by catching your opponent off-guard but becomes easy for them to counter when they are expecting it.
“It’s the dumbest class in the game but requires the most intelligent player.”
no lol
Pyro has its niche, i think some teams play successfully with him on gravelpit, hes suited to it in a role that doesnt require the team to be everywhere
“aimbot doesn’t work so well as pyro tho”
airblast? :P
shotgun?
tauntkill?
This is pretty much the only reason you need to use a pyro.

All I can say is, try it. A pyro is a very useful class if used correctly. The only concern is your team might have to play a little more defensive on middle points with a long run distance.
The other thing to take into account is a pyro is useless at long/mid range, and close range on a team of 6 organised players is a dead zone. For the pyro to be useful he would either have to act defensively, or flank and catch the enemy by suprise. Either way, it’s probably not going to work more than a couple of times in a match (a bit like having a spy, once exposed, they are ready for you).
But try and see what works best for your team, you never know, it could work great alongside your current tactics and play style.
