I’m currently undergoing a project and I was wondering if the matches here at ETF2L are listed at logs.tf or some smilar website. The reasoning is because I need to parse these matches in order to test out an idea i have.

Impetus: As the number of ranking systems increase in TF2, they all are lacking in the same area; they are all point-based. Which is a problem because that does not adequately represent a number to rank players accordingly. There have been many attempts to incorporate Elo into TF2. Elo (UGC TER) however was designed for chess (or other 2 player games) but cannot be easily assigned on a player by player basis.

It depends on the server match was played on. All serveme.tf servers upload them afaik and most of the others. They are not always easy to find though.

You could ask zoob for a zipped chunk of them, you’d have to sort them yourself. Or a lot of pcw results are linked here: http://etf2l.org/forum/league/topic-28688

Gentleman Jon has thought about player ratings a lot. I’ve thought about it enough to pick balanced teams, which is a different and simpler problem.

You can get a lot of random logs without his help as numbers on the end of files are just serials. ( http://logs.tf/static/logs/log_565173.log.zip )

Gentleman Jon

This could be interesting, rankings of players in teams differ to those in mixes. It’s not easy to separate the player from the effects of their team role.

dota has party ranking and solo ranking for this reason. Also in tf2 is even more than that, u can divide each of those into a class ranking.

You very rarely play all classes at the same level
