Hey guys. Im not being funny or anything, and I dont want a flame war. I havent been on the forums for a few days and I knoticed this http://etf2l.org/forum/league/topic-2737/?recent=40034
Why on earth are only divs 1-3 allowed ? the rest of us just not good enough for you guys ? I mean the same thing was true for the top 10 frags of the week thing.
Id just like some thoughts because surely we in the lower divs can pull of shots just as good as the higher div guys and just because we may not do it as regular as you guys why leave us out ?
On top of that surely if you want to give tf2 a good image showing only the top players is a load of crap. It doesnt show what can be done by those of us in the lower divisions. Also before any of you go, oh he is in a div6 team, I am supposedly a mid skilled player.

I have to agree here. I don’t see the reason for only allowing Div 1-3 frags.
The guy that created the top ten plays of the week had the simple explanation that allowing clips from all division would give him too much material to work with.
This is definetely not the case with this award however, since it had to be cancelled because of the lack of material…
heh fragga that had crossed my mind, I hope that isnt the case however.
Yeh my thoughts iller. I understood to a degree with the top ten frags things. But seeing it happen again and the fact it was closed because im assuming nobody could be assed ? Where as Im sure some of us in the lower divs would be more than willing to show what we can do.
I hope this is the case at least, though it may only be me heh ?
It’s probably has a couple of reasons.
A div1 player killing 4 players in a match is generally more amazing then a killing spree on lower divisions because the div1 player is playing against better opponents. And allowing all divisions would result in way to much demo’s to view(for the top10 plays of the week at least).
I’m not saying that kills from div4-6 would be boring btw, the frag of the season could just as well have allowed all divisions imo.
I agree that it more amazing to kill 4 div 1 players in a killing spree than 4 div 6 players.
However this award was for just one single frag, if I understood correctly.
I am not so sure if the admins would get flooded in materials from lower lever players if all divisions could contribute. I think most people are aware of what a very nice frag looks like. I hardly believe the lower level players would send a lot of clips with completely ordinary kills.
On the contrary I belive many low div players underestimate themselves and thinks like “This is nothing. The players in div 1 are so much better. It is just embarrasing to send my clip.”
But it might be that the admins though they would get flooded in contributions and therefore limited everything to div 1 to 3 (even if this didn’t turn out to be the case).

You don’t, theyre talking bout the word scene, not just frag: your scene shouldn’t be longer than 20 seconds
You could compare div1 vs div1 to be the same as div4 vs div4.
Though the skill difference is there. Each team is playing someone of the same skill level. I am well aware how silly this may sound.
But if a div4 player can kill 4 div4 guys. Surely you could see that as being almost as impressive as div1 killing div1.
I mean yes div1 is harder but the div1 player is better. So it evens out in a way. Im sure someone will understand what im trying to say.
I agree too Iller I have seen many awesome frags even in div6. Shots that I personally thought looked just as good as some from higher divisions.

Then I agree it is usually more impressive with div 1 kills, sure.
But I still think clips from lowever divs shouldn’t be strictly forbidden.
As long there are people which guess theirself high, while they are in div6, there will be people, which think, killing enemys that dont shoot back is cool. Already happened about the Top Ten Frags of the week at a German Site, but well, i guess its juts too much effort for someone to record his Frag, put it on the Thread, and then pobably get flamed because of its suckiness. It’s alot easier to just call a name, in which the called person dont even have to agree.
Well personally I didnt play anyone in div6 that didnt fire back .. I suppose people in div6 are retards now that dont know what left click is ?
Ever consider that some teams in div6 are wrongly in div6 ?
Personally other than officials where we had no choice we play no less than low+ and now we are playing mid games.
edit: maybe also you could put faith in lower guys to know whats good and whats not. iller has already pointed out that many lower guys undervalue their selves. Things like this only make that worse.

I understand your method of thinking regarding the “evening out”, but I can assure you this: A div1 player killing 4 div1 players will always look more impressive than a div 4 player killing 4 div4 players. There are many reasons for this: Who is being fragged, the speed in which the frag occurs, if it’s a midair – it’s usually harder to midair more experienced players duo to movement curving, full shots instead of half-shots, etc. It’s extremely rare to see those frags below division 2. Therefore, allowing every division to send in frags, when the higher divisions frags will almost always be better than the lower ones, is just a waste of time, as you are, eventually, looking for the best frag of the whole.
watching a div1 person kill a div1 person is not the same as a div6 person killing a div6 person :p.
Its like saying would you want to watch cristiano ronaldo and man utd score a very well worked goal, or go down to your local disabled under 13’s match and watch them score a goal :D
But obviously if the award is for a single frag then i’d say any division should be able to enter as an amazing frag can happen more by luck than skill sometimes.
They probably arn’t being eliteist i guess they thaught they’d recieve a flood of entrys! They were wrong :>.

I agree it is different, I believe I kinda stated that ish ? I guess after watching div1 games they do play out much faster. Even so I fail to see why lower ends always get left out.
Yes experianced players can do more. but this isnt just about div6 .. this is about 4 and 5 also. Experiance has shown me not everyone above div3 is always better than those in lower divs, hence why would some teams be beating those of divisions higher than them ?
As I stated we have started playing mid clans, yes we may lose but we may also win. That should be enough to show you that leaving out lower divisions is quite frankly retarded.
