Revise some rules already

Too much complaining from admins that players are not open for change, yet admins not wanting to change the rules that are most criticized.
Change is not throwing in random useless unlocks.
1. We really need to see a change to the nickname rule for S18. The original intent of implementing this rule was to help the casters, yet in practice the rule is mostly there to be applied for its own sake and maintain a level of kafkaesque bureacracy.
2. Golden cap rule revision? Stop dodging m8
discuss (and feel free to suggest other rule revisions that should have been implemented seasons ago).
every argument and proposition has been laid out countless times already
the only reason they have to be repeated is because nothing is done with the suggestions, and admins try and forget about it to focus on maintaining the status quo.

change the GC rule to what sideshow suggested
werent admins debating whether you could have like etf2l name change per season or something? maybe they could do that and force you to play with your etf2l nick

I’m just going to say – use your actual nicknames in the game if you want to be treated seriously WHEN casted. If you don’t apply, simply I will be calling people ‘McButts’ if their name is impossible to spell.
Really. Cannot explain any easier, why it is important. You want to be known for being good or remembered as McButts.

Disable name changes in ETF2L and make them only changable through admin. Make the ETF2L nick name the “official” nickname, which you are required to use in officials.
Remove the time limit on Golden Cap to avoid stalematey situations where the team holding the mid can simply park the bus. This is especially true on maps like Granary and Gullywash where mid is generally tougher to push.

I thought this was the rule, until the other day when a team I merced for got a warning for not submitting my nickname.
My name was “snow” in the official. I was absolutely blown away when I found out there was a warning given for it. I had assumed my ETF2L nickname would be taken to be my nickname unless submitted otherwise.
Just more petty shite that ETF2L can chase people for. Maybe they enjoy all that extra work.
Has anyone considered that maybe we want to change this rule, but haven’t had the time or that it isn’t high enough on the priority list? I mean the nickname rule, we know this rule is not perfect but it is completely manageable until we have other higher priority things completed. Making a thread or spamming admins isn’t going to do anything, we’re aware of the problems this rule creates and are working on changing it.
As for the golden cap rule, Sideshow has made his points to us and we have discussed it, we will announce if it is changed or not. Just because it isn’t public yet does not mean we are ignoring it.
