So currently I’m running I believe a fairly high sens on soldier. I have wanted to snipe for a long time and when I have sniped I’ve used a smaller sens.
Should I just lower the sens fully just so I can play sniper or do you think lowering it every once in a while is a valid way?

E: Thanks a ton to everyone who posted!

Whatever works best for you. Using the same current or lower sens on both classes, using different senses for different classes, …

Carlos Kaiser

Try zoom_sensitivity_ratio

Mundi

dogs.tf

zoom_ratio 0.something that you like
you can use that so you dont have to change sens for your classes

What does it do?
or like what does it help? Whats the recommended value if my sens is 3/4 of what it is compared to soldier

I think this might work…

Example:

Soldier sens = 8
1337 sniper sens = 3 (with default zoom_sensitivity_ratio = 0.8)

3 * 0,8 = 2.4 – your 1337 sens when scoped
2.4 / 8 = 0.3 – the zoom_sensitivity_ratio you should use to have same sensitivity while scoped.

Sniper sens * z_s_ratio = sniper sens scoped

Alright so my soldier sens = 1,3
Sniper sens = 0.85

0.85 * 1 = 0.85
0.85 / 1.3 = 0.65 (So this should be my z_s_ratio, correct?

Edit: ] zoom_sensitivity_ratio
“zoom_sensitivity_ratio” = “1.0”

Zoom sens ratio is 1 by default?

So in short and simple
1,3 (my sens) * 0.65 = 0.85 (Which I want for sniper)

I thought it was set to 0.8 by default, but this: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/List_of_TF2_console_commands_and_variables#Z suggest otherwise.

But it really does not matter. If z_s_ratio is 1 in your config your calculations are correct.

Cheers. I can already feel the placebo hit me.
