[ETF2L] Site changes player frontend
Created 25th May 2013 @ 21:19
We will use this thread to inform our users of site changes that are relevant for them but do not justify a mention in a newspost.
The dropdown menus of the menu bar have been changed to open upwards instead of downwards. Nothing is wrong with your browser or the site.
This is a temporary solution to meet Google AdSense policy. Please do not contact administrators about this.
The demo uploader now accepts files up to 60 MB in the following formats:
* zip
* rar
* 7z
* xz
* bz2
* gz
When visiting a team- or player page, the browser title bar will now show the team- or player name first. This should help users who use tabbed browsing a lot to find the tab they are looking for.
The match page now shows the default deadline for the match week at the top.
The wildcard bugs have been (hopefully) fixed.
The wildcard button now displays the number of wildcards remaining.
New wildcard error messages have been added for the following cases:
* Less than 15 minutes before match deadline
* Match already wildcarded by your team
* No wildcards remaining
* Wildcard lock is in effect.
The “one of the teams has dropped” message is now displayed on matches without results.
Class and Country columns have been swapped on the Recruitment page.
The My Teams page received an overhaul and is now the preferred place for joining, leaving and managing your teams. Check it out! http://etf2l.org/wp/wp-admin/index.php?page=teams
Added Join/Leave Team links to team pages, and an Invite to Team link to user pages. The latter only appears if you have a team you can invite the user to.
Team joins are now added to public history only when the team leader accepts you. Likewise, leaving a team is only recorded if you were accepted when you left.
There are now roster limits for teams of each type. If your team is at or above the roster limit, you will not be able to add new players. Teams that are above the limit at this time will be asked to remove extra players when they join any future competitions.
Updated the Competition Tables page to use cached scores and made some slight changes to the table layout:
The “map draws” column has been removed and replaced with Golden Cap win and loss columns.
Added an explanation tooltip for each column.
The player/team autocomplete fields now display entity IDs next to their names to simplify selecting an entity with a common name from the list.
The suggestions list for player/team input fields is now limited to 10 matches. If you need to select a player/team with an extremely common name (e.g. “John”), please enter their ID into the field instead.
The form for submitting results has been rewritten. Some changes you should know about:
* You no longer need to upload screenshots while submitting results. If you are missing a steam ID or map screenshot, please leave the upload field blank. Uploading bogus screenshots from today onwards may be classified as abuse and result in warnings.
Note that this does not mean you don’t have to upload screenshots at all – you will still get warnings for missing screenshots when an admin verifies your result. If you manage to procure a missing screenshot after submitting results, upload later using this page (team leaders only): http://etf2l.org/wp/wp-admin/index.php?page=add_screen
* Screenshots must now be valid JPG files under 2MB in size.
The Player/Team search page now has a slightly smarter country filter – if the search query is not empty, it will only show countries that have hits in the country filter, along with the number of hits for players and teams.
Inputing something that looks like a Steam ID into the search field (N:N:NN.. or STEAM_N:N:NN…) will automatically filter results for players only.
Fixed an issue where uploading multiple screenshots of the same type while submitting results resulted in only the last screenshot being uploaded.
Matches affected by this bug had multiple screenshots that link to the same file. The duplicates have now been removed.
If your match was affected, please re-upload missing screenshots and contact an admin to remove duplicates.
On the submit results form, maps are now selected automatically.
If a map appears twice, it means the scoring rules for this map require submitting it as two maps – please check the individual competition’s rules for guidelines.
Match pages now show the start and end date for the round the match belongs to, as well as the individual deadlines for the match.
