So, I have no idea on where do I start, I have added myself to the recruitment tier, opened up a topic about that I was searching for a team. So do I just have to wait until an invite pops up from some other team? Or is there someplace I can go to do 6vs6 right now? Or at least someplace official to train myself?
Thanks.
Well, you can search the teams recruitment and see if anybody is looking for something that you fit.
As for some more casual/practice play before a team comes along: http://www.tf2pickup.net/ the tf2pickup site mimics a 6v6 game with random people. You should have some idea of what to do already though, hopefully, otherwise I suspect some people will get mad. Some are more helpful than others! It might be a bit quiet at this time of day as it’s prime match time, but outside of match hours there’s usually quite a lot of activity.
If you’ve really not played any/don’t know much about how it all works then there’s a couple of sticky threads and guides around – namely start at the top of this website where it says “6v6 Newcomer Guide” for the general basics of how to go about stuff.
There’s lots of casts and things around, and a lot of TF2 content can be found on http://www.vanillatf2.org/ VanillaTF2 – watching someone play your particular class can be really helpful, and you don’t need to find other players to do this with :D
There’s some newbie mix groups etc. floating around, I think there’s a sticky thread somewhere about them, but there are a handful of people really happy to help you get started with playing more through there.

A lot of new players find teams in my mix group, if they’re cool and agreeable types: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/nlpg

Agreed, before you head over to tf2pcikup.net, check his group out. Nice atmosphere and people willing to learn/teach, just the right thing if your new to competitive tf2.
