The captain of our team decided to drop our team. Does this effect medals? HELP!

This is for the current season of etf2l highlander (April 2013)
I don’t know what to do. Should I sign up for a different team? Is there still time to sign up for a team?
I am disappointed that the leader of our team decided to bail out on us, but I was wondering if this means that I will not be getting a medal this season?
If it is still possible to join a team I would really like to be on one. If I don’t get a chance to play this session then that is ok. I am happy to play a backup position.
I would just like to be on a team this season.
You need to be on the roster of a team that completed the season at the time of the roster lock (this is the weekend the regular season finishes) to claim a medal for the season
