Can we request a hard division 6?

I liked the bit where fraac built up loads of pressure on him and his team.
Please, for the love of all you deem holy, win your division.
Bill, I know far more than 0.1% of those players. Next time swallow your pride and ask. We all have the same aim here: to help the most people have the most fun.

Knowing perfectly well that people rarely accept ideas unless approached obliquely and flattered with the impression that the idea was their own, this cheap way of making the season interesting was somewhere in the subtext.

That is indeed how it would seem to a person only capable of seeing how things are, not how they could be. Personally I don’t believe that a team with virtually no league experience should start in division 5.
so you are too good for div6 and at the same time don’t want to play in div5
You should either progress and play with better teams to progress further OR stay where you are stomping div6 newcommer teams

Etf2l provides the league, the players provide the fun.
Seriously, etf2l provides a goal, the opportunity for you and your team to play for something than winning a pcw, while having fun.
If you are winning against most div6 teams/won div6 then you should try winning against better opponents (=div5), not expect from etf2l to find the 3 or 4 div6 teams that will give you a close game.
Your new goal should be to win div5, not to whine about how div6 is to bad for you and how div5 is too good for you. You have to put in some effort to achieve goals.
Now I like the bit where fraac is massively patronizing and hints at a believe playoffs have never been discussed before, nor dismissed due to a preference of 3 seasons a year over 2.

You have to remember there’s a bit of a conflict of interest here as well though. What advice they take from you will affect your division and how your team does. Not a reliable system to employ! We’d end up with people offering advice that merely has the intention of benefiting themselves more than anything.
I actually wouldn’t mind some efforts to do something if any of these teams managed to last more than a season but half of a team decides to move on (rec thread 2 divs higher) each season.
You don’t have enough ‘data’ or experience with each players and how they work respectively in teams to make a sufficiently judgement either imo. I’m going to doubt you’ve played against every team on at least 3 or 4 different maps where they have no mercs or inactives etc. playing.

I think you misunderstood. He is getting at the point that this issue has already been addressed before – it happens all the time. Other avenues (ladders) have been explored etc.
Going by your ETF2L registration you may not have seen much of it, true, but it doesn’t mean we haven’t been over it a few dozen times after each season.

It’s is not our job to request every single bit of information from you, or to make divisions tailored to you. We make the divisions as balanced as possible. Trying to find every bit of information to make all Div6 subdivisions perfectly balanced (or as close to perfect as possible) is not doable even if we did know everything about the teams.
It is not a matter of my pride, it is simply that I know what we actually do as opposed to talking without any knowledge like you do. Making well-balanced Div6 subdivisions is not doable within the time we have to get the divisions rolling even if we did know everything about every team.
Yeah but the alternative to no information isn’t perfect information; it’s better information. We may as well do the best we can.

I personally think you should just go Div5 if you think Div6 will be boring, if you think you’ll get stomped in Div5 then go Div6.
There’s only so much than can be done.
Why not move up a div? You probably dont like the idea considering what kinda things you’ve been posting about me but why not?
