If your ‘cloests rivals’ are div 6, then you clearly are meant to be in there too…?

Yes. If you’ve joined halfway through, this isn’t a thread where I’m saying we’re in the wrong division. I’m saying everyone else is.

Nope, this is the thread you said you are in the wrong division. If you request a harder version of the worst skill level div, guess what you are requesting? Oh yeah div5.
That is indeed how it would seem to a person only capable of seeing how things are, not how they could be. Personally I don’t believe that a team with virtually no league experience should start in division 5.

So you are trying to tell us, that most of the div6 teams are to bad for div6?
Let me ask you some questions:
Should 90% of the div6 teams be moved to a new div7 so that your team can beat the remaining 7 teams in close games, to make div6 perfect for you? Or should you just play div5, where you might only get 3 or 4 good/close games and get shit on in the remaining games unless you try to improve?
Did it ever come to your mind that the purpose of etf2l is not to find the 7 teams that your team will have the closest matches against?

It honestly didn’t. What on Earth is etf2l for? They’re non-profit. Literally their only purpose I can see is to provide a fun tf2 league, and the most fun comes from the best competition.

It is impossible to make div so that the skill gap between teams of the same div is pretty muche the same.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF FUCKING GOD JUST STOP. Your team and maybe a few more teams are gonna have a good time by doing the changes your suggesting. Everyone else do not give a single fuck, because it’s fucking div 6. It’s a division fucking made for getting out of it.
If you don’t care then you have no purpose in the discussion. If you’re suggesting that etf2l don’t care about making the lower divisions as fun as possible then they should defer to people who do care.
Setsul and sidestep, is this what you meant when you asked what I thought is the purpose of etf2l? Because, again, if this is true then it honestly didn’t occur to me. But I think there is some miscommunication here.

This isnt a discussion. Its basically one person putting forward a ridiculously retarded theory, with absolutely no thought put into it, defending it like its his precious erected penis against everyone else who actually played through most of ETF2L’s cups and seasons. So far you’re the only one who’s stirring up a problem and making it as if you’re the white knight of div 6. Div 6 is where everyone starts, and as said above, built so you can get out of it, not have it altered for your own fucking pleasure and “competition”.
So, since we’ve established that this isnt a discussion, its safe to say that you should probably just play through div 6, get to div 5, show your worth and then talk rather than talk big, suggest gallant ideas and probably still fail your rollout.

It’s not doable to make Div6 as competitive as the higher divisions. Sheer number of teams combined with the fact 99.9% of those players/teams are completely unknown means we can’t do it. Accept it and move on.
