Err so teams who don’t want to be placed in div6 just because they’re new can submit screenshots of them beating low div5 teams? So this makes your point completely invalid. IF you get put in div6 just because you’re a new team and you dont provide evidence to the contrary its your own fault

I’m not talking in theory, I’m talking about what has actually happened.

When I ignore things like “my valid points that have bested you” you’ll have to take my word for it that I’m doing you a favour. I have no interest in engaging on that level.

A harder div 6 is ridiculous, and as so many above have put it, quite difficult to do without someone knowing all the skill levels and dividing them equally. Once you can schedule all your games on time, have all your players ready, and have no default win/loss constantly, and apply this theory to the entirety of ETF2L, then maybe we can consider playoffs for every division. Unfortunately, most people also have something called a “life”, defined as interactions with the outside world, and this pesky “life” will definitely interfere in your weekend playoff plans.

You’re either Pennyfarming in disguise or you have intelligence issues (please note these two are both definitely not mutually exclusive)

oho straight to the point

Also, I have never seen Tapley get pissed off before, he’s usually so nice and polite.

Yeah, and ultimately why should anyone care about anything except Prem? Great point. In fact scrap ETF2L and let’s all watch ESEA Invite.

What do you play for, then? Winning? Having fun?

If you play for winning, the same argument you bring could be said on that, who would even care about playoffs unless you’re Prem?

If you play for fun, what’s the point of having playoffs, again? Wouldnt be playing 3 season per year way more fun than just a pixel trophy of “best div 6 team of the season”, which means absolutely nothing because 1) matches especially in div 6 (and div 5 and div 4 as well) tend to be pretty random, that is that results are not constant unless the skill gap is big, which means that maybe on another day the result could have been different, which doesnt happen in higher div because they are muche more consistent (and that’s why they are there) 2) no one but you and youre team and maybe some few div 6 teams would really care about it 3) it is just a vain thing, it doesnt really give any indication of your skill level

Seven weeks for 5 divisions, only one of which has more than a few subdivisions? You need to think before you speak.

Of course no one would be interested in watching something that isn’t properly promoted, that’s why American tf2 is by far the best spectacle. That has nothing to do with the skill of the players.

Yeah, the lacking of interest in div 6/div 5 games and the lacking of div6/ div 5 games being casted is indeed the reason why American tf2 has more viewers.

Also this “let’s play they playoffs in the weekends” is completely ridicoulous.

Don’t you have the most fun in close games where your skill meaningfully contributes to the result? If that’s just me then I retract the whole thread.

Not pissed off :]] just enjoying a disucssion with somone who unfortuantely appears to be slightly misguided.

I’ll bow out here, but essentially no one agrees with him and what he’s saying will never happen. However apparntly it is a very easy thing to do!
Fraac put your money where your mouth is you’ve got a whole season to arrange an unofficial end of season div6 champions cup, get some casters lined up, prizes and coverage. If its so easy this should be no problem for you! Far too many people in TF2 are all want want want but never actually get off their arse and do anything so theres my challenge, if you’re correct like you keep saying you are, go arrange this tournament and show us how everyone wants to watch div6 games.

One day you’ll reach the pinnacle of tf2 and be Team Scotland like me treacle, keep the dream alive.

Am I the only one who sees, that all this guy wants is an e-penis enlargement operation? All he wants is to roll div6 being above that level, get “you’re super awesome.jpg” in his profile and brag about it. If you want a challange, go div5, if you want to roll and feel good about yourself stay div6.

P.S.: it’s better to be a looser among winners, than a winner among loosers. Think about that for a second.

If you honestly can’t deal with div5 even though you going to supposedly roll 4 or 5 div6 games then…

I can easily organise it myself and get it promoted, casted and prized, I just think it would be cooler if it was part of etf2l’s official league structure.

My recommendation:

Do it yourself -> if success -> ETF2L would consider some adoption for future seasons

Think of it like approaching an investor (Dragon’s Den pls); they won’t throw their time and money at you unless you’ve proven it works yourself. I can’t manage a season where every team actually shows up for matches, let alone getting them all on the same day etc.

Close games are the best, yes, but actually you’d probably find half of the teams winning division 6 should have been higher (but as they didn’t provide any evidence and requested div 6…). Back when I joined 9 Men in div 5, we never actually managed to win the div because of two teams that were significantly better, both who then completely skipped div 4 and went div 3 following that. No doubt half of the winners across div 5/6 will be in similar situations.

Makes me think the problem is seeding the divisions properly in the first place. As I said, I can help with that. If a team has no known players they should be made to get some pcw results.

Make division 6 a ladder that runs constantly, admit the top teams whenever a new season starts.

Yes because ladder worked out great when we had it

Don’t act as if you didn’t understand why the ladder was not popular.

THERE IS NO PROBLEM. YOU ARE MAKING IT UP.
GO DIV5 AND PROOVE YOU ARE GOOD.
GO DIV6 AND STAY BAD.

Why did a ladder fail?

Ash, most of our closest rivals have been placed in div6. Should I advise all of them to ask to move?
