Some people around here are so cocky and arrogant, I can’t even figure out what they want from this league. Maintaining status quo? Changing everything from the foundations up? Nobody gives a fuck if you are fed up with how this league is ran – you can just sit there, do something to change it, switch leagues, damn, even create your own. Neither of those gives you a right to bitch around. Whoever you are and whichever division you play in, it does not put you in any sort of position to categorize people as stupid or wise based on their own rating in the league, nor does it entitle you to publicly insult or humiliate anyone. Get a fucking grip on yourselves.
This post is certainly not the best example of it, but if all of you won’t cut hostility out of the equation, this discussion will be bound to go nowhere.
You go freshmeatt, yeah!

Their rulesets are in fact entirely designed by admins, who listen to feedback only as much as it takes to keep teams playing. They are not democracies and I have no idea where people get the misconception that they would have more voice in a paid business than they have with volunteers genuinely interested in helping the scene.
We’ve created a new channel for feedback via the Idea Box. This is the first time ETF2L has openly invited people to get involved with shaping the league on such a scale, more open than it has ever been. Any player in the league who does not provide feedback on the new forums, whether div6 or prem, will have nobody but themselves to blame.
It’s time we start calling things by their names. Forum rants are naught but wind. When you want change, you must take action – propose change in a constructive manner(feedback) or volunteer to make change happen(join staff). Doing nothing accomplishes nothing.
Since when was ETF2L a democracy? The league’s admins have always been picked by the admin team, which originated from the founders of the leagues. The extent to which the community has had a say has always been limited at best, with many decisions taken by the admin team prior to opening the discussion up to the masses (if at all, although this has improved with time).
When the discussion for the season’s mappool was opened up, it was to decide the maps to a certain number that was never up for discussion as it had been decided by the admin teams to be that. Now with the Idea Box, you’ve made what many/several/I feel is a subpar implementation of a rather good idea because it is the way the admin team wanted to do it and now you’re using this as an excuse to ignore any criticism from elsewhere on the basis of having the Idea Box. Why would we only have ourselves to blame for you forcing it on us?

WE RULED THE WORLD MAN….RULED THE DAMN WORLD!
Also we owned half of it too, bound to make an impression on a nation when your empire’s bigger and better and bestest and great and united and common and wealthy and…and…and then we go and found America. Shit, sorry everyone.

If I could slap people in the back of their heads over Internet, I’d gladly do it. For now, I have to hope my words will achieve something by themselves.
Why is everyone crying about the implementation of the Idea Box? Right after ESEA LAN, a bunch of unlock discussions opened up (like 3 seperate threads which for different reasons derailed into being about unlocks). In one of these an admin (not sure who) suggested a highly moderated forum where unlocks could be discussed without flaming and such. Everyone seemed happy with that suggestion and now it’s here. It’s impossible for the admin team to please everyone, and in this case they pleased everyone who read that thread.

Chill Vali xD
We wanted a special place to discuss ETF2L matters between admins and players who actually cared, a place for more thorough and serious discussion. We got it. Yes, it’s not the best implementation, but the admins have their reasons for using a phpbb. I took the trouble to register, it takes like 10 seconds. Yes, having a seperate thread for each unlock is silly, but there is enough room to adress thát exact issue on the forums themselves.

Poor communication and/or lack of transparency have always been key issues with how the admin team interacts with the community. Did anyone actually envision this from “a heavily moderated forum” that the admins were proposing? Would anyone have complained that they didnt have to go somewhere else and sign up to a completely new forum had it been another subforum of the main website?
Anyone that truly cares will be briefly mildly inconvenienced at best but there are definitely issues with the implementation that could have avoided had other, much more important issues, been addressed long ago.
