It’s live and any team leader can sign up for it in the team admin pages.
Not incredibly active right now, but still games being played.
i think its mainly because of missing adds?
im sure there are a lot more hl teams who would participate

The Highlander ladder is still open but barely alive.
The 6v6 ladder is not open and probably won’t be opened any day soon cause we would need a coder who only takes care of the ladder(s).
IMO highlander ladder would benefit from popular highlander custom maps like ashville, viaduct pro, swiftwater etc…
Seriously, out of the tens of thousands of people registered here there isn’t a single one who could spare some time for coding stuff?
Shame on you etf2l…SHAME!
Would love the ladder to become live again, so good over summer for some serious-ish practice games as and when you have 6 on.
Will say again though, if this ever does happen, please go for 2 months auto kick, not 2 weeks.
Step up guys and gals, come give etf2l some of your time, gwan, you know you want to.

To be fair: We haven’t actually been actively looking for one. It was Spike’s project before he left but even he was toe busy to do it when he was still on the staff.
We can also not just give somebody access to our site, he will have to learn how the site works, how the admin staff works, how the current ladder works, etc. If somebody wants to revive the ladder (I have no idea what needs to be done to improve it) he can talk to me or send an application to our staff mail but even then I do not see it happening in the next 2 months.
A plugin server side that connects with the ladder database, so all a team has to do to play a ladder match is arrange a pcw and when both teams ready up theres also an option to say ladder match yes/no.

That would require a ladder coder and a sourcemod coder. Guess which of those we have?
(neither)

When you consider automating a system, the key questions you need to consider are “Will the amount of resources/time/effort going into automating this be worth the time/effort that are saved by having it automated”, and “Would the resources (i.e. time and people) going into this project be better put to use on another project”.
While something like what you’ve suggested isn’t a bad idea, it’s very obvious that the answer to both of those questions are a resounding “no” in this case. For example, I personally would be quite capable of doing what you propose. However instead I could put that time into the design overhaul I’m planning for VanillaTF2, I could work on my pet project stream website that I’m making to get comfortable with Javascript, or I could finally get around to actually doing the skill system for pixel pickup.
It’s not a bad idea, it’s just that there are better ideas.
