actually Bill is right, it’s because we don’t have full access to that multiplay server, and DeNeus just doesn’t have the needed permissions on it. (at least that’s my understanding of the situation).

Was the sponsorship with Multiplay even worth it? I mean they have given servers out to people who needed to play for officials etc I think? but seeing as they are a sponsor what do they contribute in relation to prizes for season 9? The least they could have done is given a server out to the winner of every div. After all it is a community league.

None of you really get it do you? ETF2L takes huge amounts of time and effort to run, and costs serious money to pay for the kind of hosting needed for a site with this sort of traffic.

afaik, ETF2L was previously running on a dedi server in the UK that cost roughly £120/month, paid for entirely by one of the original admins (who had long since went inactive). People here whine about having to pay £8/month for game server and here’s a guy paying 15x that much money just to keep the ETF2L site running. Sure you could get it a bit cheaper than that, but it wouldn’t be as reliable or quick.

What they get from Multiplay sponsorship is that hosting for free, plus some extra stuff on the side. It’s a shame multiplay are being a serious pain the arse about permissions on the box its being hosted on.
