What’s the problem here? It’s a game that we play it for fun, if people are no longer having fun or heavens forbid have other things that they need to commit to then what’s the point in carrying on? It’s very rare that a team will drop because they lose 1 player, it’s usually when problems reach some sort of critical mass (like not being able to recruit a suitable replacement, people losing interest, not having fun in matches).
I don’t get why some of you are calling teams that drop as selfish. It’s actually fairest if a team that has gone under serious roster problems and is likely to lose the rest of the season drops if they’ve already taken points from another team. Instead of forcing people to play together (in some cases some members will literally be unable to play), why not just play 1 less official? Unless you have some kind of official fetish, there’s not too much difference in just playing a pcw instead.
The vast majority of teams in etf2l see the season through until the end. Teams that stay together will get better over time, people that leave/fold clans will have to go through the not-so-pleasent recruitment process and many people end up searching for a team for months on end. There’s no point in punishing the few teams that don’t put any effort in to staying together when there’s a ton of teams that fold for legitimate reasons. Shit happens, just be thankful that you have a team of 5+ other people that you enjoy the company of, that find the time to play regularly and are still interested in playing TF2.
My problem is more that if people know that they might not be able to a play a season tehy should not enter in the first place. It is rare that something unexpected comes up, exams etc are at particualr times in the year.
Same argument comes up every time, same answers come every time. Vali’s reply on the previous page was awesome and pretty much covered most angles!
My personal feeling both from my times as an Admin and now as a freedom fighter – I really fucking hate teams that drop after 2-3 ‘bad results’. Yes some have reasons, but many also turn out to be cry babies who couldn’t handle losing.
Teams should man the fuck up sometimes, if it is the results of their first few matches that is making them consider folding. There are a certain few players (no names mentioned) who have started and folded many teams. I would suggest that in the future they should let someone else be in charge…
Vertex have had a fucking abysmal season through instability but we didn’t feel the need to cry and fold! Yes some of us have bigger ambitions than the others in the team, but we also have a mutual respect for each other and most importantly are friends.

I Think it’s retarded that if my team plays a game and looses. Yea, official. Then after a week the team we lost against drops, and all the other teams in the group gets 6 point for free.
Imo we should get 6 points aswell since the other teams gets it.

If a team drops after one game, or with less than 75% of their matches played – all results are nulled, e.g. no points are gained by any team. :)
With regards to that 75% thing, does it count as 75% of 9 matches, or does each drop in a div bring that down. So 2 teams have already dropped, so 75% of 7 matches? Are fractions rounded up or down?

Every Season same story
Worse Div: 3B with 4 drops
U r wrong it should be 5 drops now, with team31 droppin aswell
Edit.
Teams fold thats the way it goes, I doubt that teams knew in advance if they fold or not.
I mean its the same if u found urself a new girlfriend with awesome stats around 84 -62 – 85 and u decide to play with her for a while, but after a few months u find out that she was a dude who had an operation. So u break up with it cause u dont wanna have a dude sitting on a couch with ur parents in stockings drinkin eggnog on christmas! Right?!

Maybe instead of finding a good way to punish players/teams we should switch the topic to helping team leaders and kids who want to create a super special stable top team with good tips and advise. Like don’t recruit a player who has switched 6-7 teams already, and don’t sign up with a new team in some high div where you would have a hard time just wining a game, but go first in a lower div then you are aiming for and win that div so you have a foundation to build a stable team.
And as Daniel said we could reward the long playing, no folding teams with a small gesture like a sign on the team profile page: etf2l vintage team or something. :)

Bad luck though, finding around 50 transexuals out of the a 400 woman dating pool. I guess 20% of women are transexuals.

50 out of 400 is 12.5% ._. where as 50 out of 250 is 20%
I really had no idea how many teams are signed up and I am lazy so didn’t check math, the point still stands that there are a lot of transexuals and/or dropped teams, I am not sure any more.
