I think the fact we’ll never have a ‘perfect’ system for this kind of thing is a given. I just find it really irritating that teams dont seem to care about finishing their commitments.
I forget how young a lot of the people who play this game are sometimes, (HI GUISE!), and maturity kinda takes a bit of time to develop I suppose! (Well Duh!)
I just think there should be some kind of incentive for staying with a team until the fixtures are completed, or a punishment for not. It’s too easy for clan hoppers to ruin other people’s seasons, other people who spend a lot of time preparing, practicing, going over tactics….oh week 9 game cancelled guys, they’ve dropped…… :(
Discussion is a good thing, I like to talk.
edit: Thanks to the admins that are taking the time to reply here too, the more opinions aired the better :)

Maybe we’re just getting too old for this, Monkeh.
You underestimate me, blad. I too have been taught about the wasdas and pars.
(this is not thread derailment, merely a minor intermediate)

We had spent almost a month trialling him and 3 or 4 other candidates.

Not this again.
Basically, it’s harder to recruit around our level because there are less people looking. The retarded suggestion of recruit 10 people instead of 6 won’t work because:
a) There aren’t that many good players.
b) They are r7an and will fold your team.
Hey I just saw this :(

Re-read my post please, I said “people”, not “Buffalo Bill”.
Cool, I just went from “retarded” to “so smart”! Thanks :D
Re-read my post please, I said your suggestion was retarded, but that you are “smart”

That’s completely unintentional. I don’t know anyone I actually look down upon :/
I think most of the time I am in fact just joking around and people simply misinterpret it. Such are the merits of written text!
Hop on our mumble some time if you like :)

Hey Spike!
Okay, apart from maybe Continuity and their “tactics” ¬¬
What’s the problem here? It’s a game that we play it for fun, if people are no longer having fun or heavens forbid have other things that they need to commit to then what’s the point in carrying on? It’s very rare that a team will drop because they lose 1 player, it’s usually when problems reach some sort of critical mass (like not being able to recruit a suitable replacement, people losing interest, not having fun in matches).
I don’t get why some of you are calling teams that drop as selfish. It’s actually fairest if a team that has gone under serious roster problems and is likely to lose the rest of the season drops if they’ve already taken points from another team. Instead of forcing people to play together (in some cases some members will literally be unable to play), why not just play 1 less official? Unless you have some kind of official fetish, there’s not too much difference in just playing a pcw instead.
The vast majority of teams in etf2l see the season through until the end. Teams that stay together will get better over time, people that leave/fold clans will have to go through the not-so-pleasent recruitment process and many people end up searching for a team for months on end. There’s no point in punishing the few teams that don’t put any effort in to staying together when there’s a ton of teams that fold for legitimate reasons. Shit happens, just be thankful that you have a team of 5+ other people that you enjoy the company of, that find the time to play regularly and are still interested in playing TF2.
