Every time I launch TF2 it starts “Validating Steam Cache files”, this is only when using one of your configs (only tested HighQuality and MaxQuality).

Any idea what would be causing that?

Can’t tell you since Valve’s software is a closed-source proprietary piece of crap. It baffles the mind why this would happen.

yes everytime and have do redo it all over everytime you restart the computer
EDIT apperntly i didnt have to do a validation this time i dont know why and i havent done anything to my tf2 since yesterday

Yeah, it completes and it doesn’t need to re-download anything. It only happens when I launch TF2 for the first time after starting Steam… making it even stranger!
