LANs in Amsterdam!?

So I was listening to the post i46 shade roundtable thing with Cube, Darn and Admirable. It was pretty interesting and one of the repeated points was about LANs. Getting TF2 into Dreamhack seems like a thing that the community should try and make happen for sure.
Darn made a comment about the cost of coming to the UK for i-series LAN. It occurred to me that Schipol may be easier/cheaper to get to than a UK airport. Are there any reasonable sized events running near by that could be a good target to get TF2 at?
On a similar thought train, coming from the Demoscene one of our biggest events every year was The Party in Aars, Denmark. Obviously this was handy for all the Scandinavian guys so there was pretty good attendance for that. Is anyone doing anything on the gaming side of things in Denmark…

Rotterdam > Amsterdam.
Lol Rotterdam. ‘t Maakt weinig uit maar de meeste venues waar je een community lan zou kunnen houden in Amsterdam/Rotterdam zijn waarschijnlijk te duur of niet praktisch.
Je bent beter af het in de iets minder grote steden te zoeken. Laatste TCL was in Groningen als ik het me goed herinner?

Was ook als een vrij onrealistische comment bedoeld :D, waarschijnlijk kan je zoiets beter doen in een stad als zoals je al zei Groningen of Zwolle.
I’m not really familiar with any lans around the Netherlands though, not sure if there’s even any decent sized ones.
wzzrd cafe enschede ?
Well a BYOC lan can be organised anywhere, Amsterdam should be perfectly possible. For a TUP Lan however, if you have no affiliated organisation to help you out with computers etc, the only possibility seems to be last TCL’s location which is the gaming cafe WZZRD in Enschede.
For “big” lans there are The Reality in Drachten (Friesland) which had 1 good TF2 event, The Party in Eindhoven (iirc) and of course Campzone in Oss. I don’t know any organisations and if they’re remotely interested in TF2. These aren’t huge-prize-pot LANs anyway, more ‘oldschool’ get-together-and-share-porn LANs.

That was the sort of thing I was thinking,.. possible to piggy back (with organisers agreement) to arrange a TF2 comp. They have infrastructure and a venue, TF2 brings more people, its own sponsors, prizes etc. Cheap to get to location and some buy in from a couple of top teams would make for a pretty good event maybe? Invite comp for prize money + pickup tourney or something for prize pool of sponsored goods. Co-op with already existing event could help.
Sure it would be great to hire Amsterdam RAI or something, and have a huge LAN event, but the economics of it make it massively risky.
Or you know… Dreamhack.
Also Demoscene will never die! .. even if you lot have taken over Assembly :)
