Hello everyone, Ive got a serious problem.
After the latest update, the game became unplayable for me. I have around 50-100 fps, but still, the movements look like playing with 5 fps or less. Nothing moves, just twitches. I cannot see any fluid movement, only wawes, and I cant figure out what could it be.
Ive tried quantums and m0res config, none of them helped. Ive tried playing without any config, still unplayable. I updated my video card driver, cleaned the whole computer in every single way it is possible. I used to have 150 fps with full graph on, and now, it doesnt matter what do I set up, I have 50 fps, what is really strange. 50 fps with the lowest possible settings, and 50 fps with the max. (with the feeling of having 5 fps ofc) My ping is okay, and I haven’t got problem in any other game. For example, If I load in gmod badlands, it runs fluently, without any lag, twitch, or whatever, and it is on full graph. In tf2, well you know. Any idea how could I fix it? Its not just annoying, it makes the game unfrickinplayable.
this is just a shoot in the mist but could your problem be that you set your max fps to 50? :)

soo
hmm i dont know much about that netgraph stuff and so on… i think someone with experience can help you with the information given…
now you have to wait for such a person to read your topic or just search such a person and ask him/her.
the only thing i know is that you should run steam as admin (when your using vista or win7) :3 i once had this problem…
the other thing which comes into my mind is that steamstats file that gets rewritten very often so antivirus software COULD be the reason (idk the filename exactly but its somewhere in the steam folder)
thats all i can help :/

I got this same problem after the update and I think I managed to fix it(jinxed :( ).What I did:
-Did this
-Applied the command for capping your fps: fps_max 105

uninstalled tf2, deleted all the local content manually, reinstalled, and still, nothing changed, I keep laging in that weird way, but now my hardware dx level is only 8.0 (software is still 9.0), what the heck

If you have Win7, try this.
I’ve had the same problem after the update, and it worked for me.
