I have used this hack few months ago, and it fucked my motherboard and graphic card.
After getting new stuff I’m still loving this way of looking at TF2.
Some other ways or ideas to make my game looks the same without using it? :)

Low level textures broke your graphics card and mobo?
You’re doing it wrong, but I’d point out that it’s restricted to picmip 2 for a reason on match servers.

picmip is the global mipmapping setting, applied to all textures at any range. It is a console command (mat_picmip).
It is limited by sv_cheats to 2 at max, and you should respect that. There is no other way to go about doing it than going through drivers, or putting something inbetween the driver and the game.
And it didn’t fuck your motherboard and graphics card, I can guarantee that.

it’s very obvious, but i’m not going to tell you because I completely disagree with this technique to gain an unfair advantage.

Yes, there is. It is completely unfair.
And “everyone could do it if they wanted” isn’t an argument either. Everyone could use an aimbot if they wanted.
mat_picmip 2 is an arbitrary picmip limit held for no reason at all. My guess is you’ve never played quake :(

Clanhopping killed your gpu and mobo.
But on a serious note: no way this killed your gpu and mobo unless you started messing around in rivatuner yourself.

even then i don’t see how you could kill your mb/card to be honest, even if you made your card heat up ridiculously it should just BSOD and restart.
overclocking (overvolting can’t be done in RT I think?) is not dangerous at all and won’t kill your card even if you go absolutely mad.

I fried my vram once. Started getting some texture errors at times after a cable got stuck in my 8800GTX’s fan. Never had ‘m before, and afterwards they happened once in a while. So maybe he disabled the fan somehow :D
