Validating steam files....

Was getting a bug, where tf2 was telling me that my maps differed to servers, so i tried to “verify integrity of game file”.
Did that, tried again – diddn’t work. Restarted pc, and now it trys to validate steam files whenever i load up tf2. It starts on 40%, goes to 48% and tells me steam servers are busy every time.
Restarted pc loads of times, still no luck. So now, i cant even load up tf2.. :D
Any ideas? :/
The ‘map is missing’ error is caused when a server is set up in such a way that it does not allow you to download the map — whether it is either told to not let people download maps from the server, or whether it sets a maximum size and the map is too large, either one would cause that. It’s not a problem with TF2 itself.
As for your predicament, try switching your country in File > Settings > Downloads.
I don’t know if this solves your problem but you could try to delete you clientregistry.blob in you steam folder.

Why does everyone always say this whenever any problem at all with Steam comes up? Somebody should tell people that this doesn’t fix every single problem ever with Steam :|
clientregistry.blob does not deal with this. if anything, appupdatestats.blob will be the one to delete (but I doubt that would do anything).

Hmm deleted both clientregistry.blob & appupdatestats.blob with no luck, also tried changing my country in the download thing.
I’m now doing a system restore, if this doesn’t do it im raging to bed and reinstalling tf2. :/

It wasn’t a question, I’m well aware of what clientregistry.blob does but even if it is quickly done, there is no point at all, it’s like someone saying that something isn’t working in Windows and instinctively telling them to go and delete clock.avi from system32…

Since a couple of days I cant see anymore the name of who just killed me (I see %%killername%% or something) and I cant fix it either reinstalling the hud or checking the file integrity.
Couple of days ago the game crashed too everytime the camera was zooming on my killer… pretty annoying

I think this problem is caused by some settings so you could make a safety copy of your tf2 folder then go and start tf2 without any configs (-defaultsettings if you want). If that doesnt help idk :D.
edit:
but try to change mat_queue_mode fist.
or change your steam and game language to english.

its not like I changed anything in my cfgs or options in the past 3 months…
I’ll look into it myself then… steam forums are leaking shit from every post

It doesn’t matter if you changed something or not fact is something isnt working as it should.
Have you never experienced problems with tf2 updates before?
I dont think I ever had any issue… this have been happening in the past two days and never before, thats why I’m upset.
