Both EG and Pandemic had to forfeit in the leadup to the finals :/ What do you guys think of coL’s uniforms?
sweet I’ll watch this when I get in, the commentary on these games are great
no thoughts on the uniforms?
Didnt like the uniforms. Dont know if the models have a bad design (red shoes on a blue scout?) or that i dont like the concept at all.
About the match. Its american style. So bad coordination. Carnage running 90% into heavy majorities or rocketspam and failing. And the demo’s are really late to mid. They dont seem to know how to perform the dropdown jump. Here you cant call yourself a div4 demoman when you cant perform that jump. I’d rather watch some european top teams.
The youtube video coverage was excellent, you presented the game in a really nice and clear way. I didn’t like the uniforms, they looked a bit ‘my first quakeworld skin’. Why wasn’t there a soldier on last all the time?
Last edited by SnowiE,
I just showed the videos to a friend who plays a lot of TF2 on public servers but has never been involved in the clan side of things. I know he’s probably not your target audience, but his thoughts might be useful anyway.
He didn’t understand why you followed the scouts on middle, he would have preferred the camera to be either further away showing more of the battle, or following the medic who he thought would be the focal point. I guess this is more of a public player attitude, he didn’t realise that the scouts on middle are more important to follow than the medic.
He didn’t know why players were in particular places, he would have preferred some explanation about why they were there rather than comments on their ‘good shooting’.
He suggested that if something like this was used as a training video, it would be nice to pause the action and draw circles around particular players and explain what they’re doing / have done and why, like they do in sports commentary.
Good thoughts Snowie thanks. I’m planning on making an introduction video, covering all the basics for those who haven’t seen TF2 before. I definitely want to explain concepts and bring in viewers unfamiliar with this game and format. I don’t go into the basics during the matches so much, similar to Football commentators not explaining the rules every broadcast. And yes, by Football I mean Soccer. ;)

Nice, I will be looking forward to that.
As for the uniforms, the idea of adding custom models with the logos of teams is pretty good. Although the ones used in the vid looked a bit over the top imo.
