No chat at 800x400

Hi
I’ve played with the res 800×400 for some time now and the only downside is that I cant see that chat. Maybe thats good? But I find it annoying that I have to check the console to see if someone says something to me.
Is there any fix to this?

Why are you playing at that resolution if you don’t mind me asking?
That would mean your view is a 2:1 ratio and as far as i know, they don’t even make consumer grade displays with that aspect ratio.
i.e. its double as wide as it is high.
you should have 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 or 16:10 (this being the most likely if you have a widescreen monitor).

I’m playing at that resolution with windowed mode on my crt. So It’s a “fake widescreen”. I’m using it to see wider.
So I guess there is no fix? Oh well, atleast its good cause it means cleaner screen and easier to hit enemys ^^

Thats still widescreen but its a standard resolution so you should have chat. What you have atm is supah-wide-screen. ;P

Nah its fine I guess, don’t wanna mess up my aim now and i dont wanna lose the extra edge ^^.
BTW, I think I played at 1280 x 640 some time ago and I had chat.
