Now that I don’t have sick in my keyboard, I’ve been wondering about this.

TF2 instagib was great. Lots of people played it for fun and competition when it was around for its short period, and then suddenly it died out. There is not one server online for it anymore, and I would like for this to change.

For those who don’t know, TF2 instagib is, lo and behold, an instagib mod for TF2. It plays over CTF maps, a few stock and a few custom, features improved hitscan compared to source’s system, and has movement quirks involving air-strafing and rail-jumping.

The few servers running it were active for around two months, and ETF2L even ran a 4v4 fun cup earlier this year. Things went well, despite nobody having practiced as much as a certain team. This should be different.

I’m planning on purchasing a server to setup for Instagib, instagib matches (4v4 usually), and perhaps even instagib tournaments. It’s a shame to see such an awesome game go to waste.

Now, I’m not asking anybody to quit TF2 to play instagib solely (though by all means do), I feel that a lot of people quit before they really give the game a chance. They will get beaten repeatedly by people who have played the game already for 20 or 30 hours and ragequit within 5 minutes. Not good.

What I am asking is that if you are interested in TF2 instagib, some competitive play and possible tournaments, post in this thread. If the numbers reach enough that I feel we can sustain a small community, then I will go ahead and start trying to revive this under-appreciated gamemode.

I’ll get an NL hosted server as the first one, most likely. It’s a bit more but worthwhile.

Instagib is rather dull in general but TF2 IG is pretty unique and a bit more interesting. Would love to play it once in a while. :D
