I’ve never been to an i-series event before so I don’t know what is happening. From what I have seen there is very little information on the i37 web-site.
It says the event is from 7th – 10th (Fri-Mon).
q. Does the event finnish on Sunday or Monday?
I bought a ticket to allow me to set my PC up the day before the event starts.
q. Does this mean I can arrive at the event on Thursday?
q. Is anyone else from TF2 going on Thursday?
q. I assume this means Thursday evening?
I have been told to bring a tent so I can camp.
q. Where do we camp?
q. Do you have to pay extra to camp?
Lastly – any tips for a bring your own pc noob?
Cheers,
byte

Monday, theres usually some finals on Monday as well as the prize ceremony.
I bought a ticket to allow me to set my PC up the day before the event starts.

Yes
q. Is anyone else from TF2 going on Thursday?
Dunno, but make sure you print your fast ticket Thursday is usually more busy (people trying to get in) than Friday.
q. I assume this means Thursday evening?
Yes they usually open at 6pm but usually thye open a few hours before that.
I have been told to bring a tent so I can camp.
q. Where do we camp?
Outside the event on the small fields.
q. Do you have to pay extra to camp?
Nope, you just have to get a space before they are all gone.
Lastly – any tips for a bring your own pc noob?
Take a chain and padlock to secure your pc and monitor. Take your mouse, mousemat and headset when you leave at night. Take some food, I would try to stay away from all the shit food thats there. There is a Harvester down the road next to a Premier Inn which is nice.
Next time book a hotel, ask Wlv why.
q. Does the event finnish on Sunday or Monday?
Monday, everyone usually packs up and heads home about mid day

With EAS yep, alot of us tf2 lot will be in the passion wagon getting to lan for about 3pm ish to setup camp and que up.
q. Is anyone else from TF2 going on Thursday?
Most people i think, steam me and i’l chuck you my mobile number
q. I assume this means Thursday evening?
Come down any time on thursday but your usually allowed to start going in the games hall from 4pm onwards

Theres 2 camp site a “noisey site” and a “quiet site” we usually go in between the two, so we can get pissed at night and not distrub too many people and at the same time avoid 15 year old css wankers shouting “LEEROY JENKINS” at 5am

Photo ID
Towel
Camping gear(infalteable bed £7 from tescos ftw!)
Beer/cider/vodka.
4 socket extension plug!!!
Football ( i always forget mine ask Evil )
And anyway Alex you’re in our team so you can hang with us in our tent city ^_^ just look out for the a-team van and my tall sexy drunk body.
Ok here we go
EDIT: Deleted too late on this section but tips still apply
Any tips?
Umm
1) Go through the check list on the i37 site about what too bring.
2) bring a small bag which you can take any expensive removable items back to your tent when you finish such as mice, keyboards external hdds.
3) As soon as you get there check in as soon as you can if there is no que, you might not be able to get in yet, but when they do open the doors you can go straight into the hall
4) Be carefully with your computer temps, I found computer temps to be about 10 degrees higher at i36 which caused tapleys computer to run at 115 degrees c !!! which made his comp shut down mid match.
Am sure there is more but that will do from me
FireStorm
I have a feeling my pc might overheat to.
I will aim to get there Thursday evening around 6-7pm after work. Keep some beers on ice for me!
Thanks for the help
I’ll be there from Thursday afternoon.
The photo ID needs your birthdate on (basically for the wristbands 18. You might get away with forgetting it if you’re noob like some people *cough* FireStorm *cough* if you definitely do look over 18 ;p
In terms of shit food what Evil said, dominoes pizza > the onsite pizza (normally a guy comes out with a huge van full of orders, no doubt us lot will do an order down bottom so you’ll be okay).
Discovered the canteen on the last day of i36 ;p the food was nice, felt good inside instead of crap like general lan food ;)
Oh and fyi, any alcohol you bring you can’t take into the venue hall, leave that by the tent site for the pissups after
nice avatar mate ;)

just to make sure u are able to buy an EAS when u get there right?
you can but i read it’s probably best to do it in advance just in case.
also i think entry to the hall on thursday evening is between 6pm-11pm, but as tapley said most people are getting there earlier.
also a lan noob, seems to be quite a few tf players going though
