Why do we still use vent on pickups?

nobody cares if mumbel dumbel is free or open source, vent sounds better, maybe with lag, but fuck it, its just pickup
Thats because your not paying for it. ;)
Mumble sounds a lot better especially in pickups, where people have shit mics and settings. With good well set up mics vent sounds nice though.

In the option menu theres a slider which goes from 1 to 10 for quality. Default is 4 i think.
Playing medic in a pickup with vent just is s0 fooked up. Having that 2-3sec voicelag and shouting about the flanking scout just makes the comms useless =P And since pickups with scouts is mostly about fraghunting the flanking scouts are many. :P
Its VERY, VERY simple why, A i think MultiPlay sells ventrilo servers and B Ventrilo is ALOT more “noob friendly” it requires hardly any setting up.
mumble is faster but ventrilo sounds a hell of alot nicer, both are pretty simple to setup, so u have to either pick sound quality or lag, its 50/50 depending on what u want most.
Any chance of F2 doing a poll, at least in pickup2/invite? It’s understandable to keep pu1 using vent as it’s the much less serious players mainly that are there, the majority of whom will know of vent but not of mumble.

No… Mumble has the capabilitys to be ALOT higher quality than Ventrilo you just have to set up properly :XX I have mine on lowest quality and its fine though :S
