Why do we still use vent on pickups?

As the topic says, why?
I mean, everyone (or at least a large majority) thinks mumble is a hell of a lot better so why stay with vent?
Edit: I know this have been brought up earlier but I would like to bring some new attention to it.
It’s what multiplay provided. It’s more their choice, than ours afaik. Unless “we” set up our own mumble for it, I think decision lies with them. Vent works, so there isn’t really much need to change it from a certain point of view.

Vent is not really worse than Mumble,
most clans use Mumble because the costs are lower.
Ever used TS2? Thats is shit.
atm vent is used cause its voice quality is still better. yes, it’s true :)) the coming version 1.2 of Mumble will fix quite a lot of that stuff and generally be like the invention of sliced bread (the best thing ever as we all know).

vent is a lot worse than mumble. delay, not fully functional easy to set up overlay, quality, delay and delay.

well even after ive spent hours configuring mumble it still sounds like people are grating cats when they talk, so id rather have quality than speed atm, lets see what this new version is like.
Lack of overlay in vent is horrible for pickups.

my advice for that problem => Logitech G15
Overlay has never worked for me, and I don’t have a fancy keyboard. >.< Nor do I realllllllly want to be looking at my keyboard while playing TF2.
Think Mumble have much better quality actually. But many have crappy microphones and headsets so…

Ventrillo its true when set on the highest quality mode is better than Mumble. However if you took a survey of about a 100 players and asked them to say which was better then i’d be pretty damn sure you’d find most couldn’t tell the difference. In general, peoples headsets are the main problem.
Mumble is better than Ventrilo. period. Anyone who has some small reason for why Ventrilo is better is merely clinging to straws. Mumble is open source and thus free. The client program is alot easier to use. Its far more configurable and the overlay is good. The only thing I find is that the configuration of Murmur (the server) is alot more complicated if your running it on your own dedi box, but thats really a non-issue because anyone running a dedi-box probably knows how to google aswell.
So ye, Mumble in pickups please,

nobody cares if mumbel dumbel is free or open source, vent sounds better, maybe with lag, but fuck it, its just pickup
