So, I’ve been getting this error message every time I try to create a server or join any server. I’ve got no idea why, except I’ve set up m0re’s config recently, but everything was fine until now. Help please, because I wasn’t able to google the answer T_T

Maybe you should post how you solved it, in case someone else has the same problem.

M0re

maybe he bought legit copy of tf2

lol it’s like when google’ing a weird problem noone ever heard of, then you finally find a thread where someone had the exact same problem. The last post: “solved, close plz”

Motherf…
People posting that they managed to solve it but dont post a solution are even worse than the ones finding a solution and never posting anything at all.

Sorry, what happened? Blacked out for a second there from the rage.

I restarted steam. That’s all.
It was kinda bug, but I wasn’t able to restart steam cause I had no internet access, but wanted to launch the game to play some tr_ maps.

I’ve never written this before, but in this particular case, I feel the urge:

*facepalm*

Next time, use the steam “offline”-mode.

yeah, which doesn’t allow launching games

M0re

:D i lolled to *counterfacepalm* awesome. but yeah its true. theres offline mode, but it wont allow you to start games.

I have never encountered this, so I did a little test:

Pulled the ethernet cable, rebooted windows, tried to ping etf2l.org to make sure wifi was indeed also turned off, started steam, put it into offline-mode, started tf2, loaded up a tr_ map, killed bots for 10 minutes, quit the game, put back the ethernet cable, disabled offline-mode, started the browser, wrote this message.

So, it does work. That “facepalm” stuff was perhaps not as funny as I intended, so I’m sorry if it offended you.

offline mode works as long as your games are updated.

gryzor, oh, never mind, I don’t get offended so easily ^^
so we need to clear things up a little bit, because steam’s offline mode didn’t let me launch games, but you were able to play. dunno why does this happen

As Racio said you can play offline as long as your game is updated. Offline mode is simply bugged.

Offline mode does work but can be a bitch sometimes (</3 LAN's with no internet)
