Just as with lvl^, I joined to play as a backup with Imperial.
lvl had people leave because of joske, so I played medic or soldier basically every scrim.
I am in Imperial to fill in when need be, develop the team, and enjoy myself with some other cool BROS.
How Imperial runs their team is completely up to Imperial…. and league admins.
As far as the ping issues, go play soldier with a 190 ping against the best soldiers in a given scene and then come talk to me.
I play US and European TF2. It is much harder to play with a higher ping even though players seem to think they ‘hit more’ with one.
The differences:
The player with 100+ ping still needs to hit a player dead on, client side. The opposing player might think he is behind a corner but obviously on the high pinging players computer, he is not, so the hit registers (client side prediction). This works both ways, the low pinging player will see the high pinging player first if he strafes out from a corner. Sometimes the high pinger will be instafragged the very second he see’s the low pinger walk round the corner, looking like almost unhuman reactions.
It is 10x harder to dodge projectiles with a high ping. Projectiles hit you from miles away which makes them feel like they are moving faster. With a high ping you actually have to predict where a rocket is going to be shot and dodge your prediction. With a low ping you have time to react and time to dodge the rocket after you see where it is going to hit.
Some people in this community really do cry about anything. Remember this is Internet gaming. You might want to ban say, Americans from playing, but what is there to stop me from deliberatly increasing my ping to get the same effect? What happens for people who have unavoidable connection issues? Other side of Europe players? Routing issues?
Just play the game and stop moaning about tiny annoying things. Oh no he has a high ping, I miss a few shots, he hits a few blah blah. It’s the netcode and without this current one, everyone would be moaning if their ping was higher than 20.
If they want to enter the league, i dont see why they shouldn’t be able to providing they play on European servers.
The other way to put it for you is.. well why don’t you ask to play the match on an American server? then you can’t complain as you will be the ones with the high pings.
A New community LAN in UK with invited americans teams ? just for the best players around the world :P
wow why didnt I think of that
the problem would be: how many us teams would wanna go ? :D
do something like Intel Extreme Masters

GOOD JOB BRO, +1 +1.
You’ve completely missed the point. I’m not saying you’re a shit player, I’m saying that this a Euro scene, and I’m asking where do you draw the line between keeping it a European scene, or allowing anyone from anywhere to join a team?
For US guys, because of the time difference, it’s perfectly possible to play in both US and Euro leagues at the same time, but the same isn’t really true in reverse (unless you’re nocturnal Dignitas types). Yet these players are, as Agron said, only playing in the Euro scene as a side-project. How the hell do we expect our scene to grow if we allow top spots to be taken by foreign players, instead of recruiting Euro players for a Euro league?
And the idea that Imperial ‘don’t have a choice’ and “cant” spend “months” recruiting new players and training them is dubious/bullshit tbh. There’s lots of high Div 2 players around that could/would be motivated to play, and it by no means would take months to get good teamwork up.

I still dont know what your point is, but essentially you are telling us to steal decent players from decent clans to make them ours, all so we can stay up. How noble is that compared to borrowing US players when they arent busy?
Destroy div2 clans that are strong so we can keep going… Thanks for the advice div2 man.

+1 renegade
stop the fullquotes >_>
I see your point, Dave, but honestly, they imo make quite a small impact on the scene as it is. If they manage to play that amount of games, then why stop them from doing so? Most players wouldnt even try to play with that ping, it’s just some mad “high” guys (from EU => USA as well)…
I never said steal any Div 2 players? Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough – I meant there are Div 2 standard players around, if not some Div 1. With practice they could fit in.
And my point is, where do we draw the line before we say “No, you cannot play in this league” because at the moment, it seems anyone can join, regardless of ping, and as long as we say “Well they’re from Korea, I’d expect them to get 300+ ping and as long as their internet connection is stable…” we’re letting them play.
Yet again, I’m not trying to victimise you guys, but at the same time Imperial is a team with quite a few players from outside Europe.
