Hey guys, I recently upgraded my pc and switched from XP -> Windows 7.
On switching I can now play with better graphics but there are some things I want to change back to the old style im used to. Does anyone know the command for:
1) glistening models (turning off the shine on the models – in brightlight makes them weird coloured)
2) the worldmap is like shadow patched, I don’t know if there is a way to turn that off so it’s all one colour tone and then have only player models?
Cheers for any help

Try messing with mat_bumpmap and mat_specular, should fix it for you.

Not sure what you mean, mat_picmip maybe? Upload a screenshot.
Other problems are:
my HUD seems alot smaller.
The boxes are smaller and the font is smaller (like when you hover over someone and see their name).
Any fix to that?

cl_hudminmode 0/1?
maybe you’ve increased your resolution? :D
dxlevel 8
Well m0re fixed the shiney bug. 8.1 is the way to go definately. Still there is shadow/shading on the ground thats annoying I just want player shadows not like world shadows :<

Are you sure you’ve set mat_bumpmap 1, and done a restart of tf2? Also don’t forget to make sure it isn’t in your config somewhere being set to 0.
test mat_shadowstate 0 (dunno what you really mean tbh, pic would help) :p
