A few people is using the fan now, with this update, could be better than the scattergun :O ?
“- Increased the Force-A-Nature’s damage by 10%.”
fu arx and arnold, you’re annoying enough. kthx.
it already was better than scattergun… getting behind medic and 2 shotting him was instadeath even before this, now this will just get annoying :D
yes but you could 2 shot the medic with the scattergun as well, so i don’t see what that really has to do with anything (in fact, the FAN only used to do 94% damage compared to the scattergun)
it does make it a bit more viable, but you still only have 2 shots before you have to reload, so if you miss one, you’re still fucked
i might try it out for a bit, but i doubt its gonna be much better
what i ment is that u cant uber fast enough if scout comes behind…
b4 this update was it -25% dmg? if they added 10% why now i read it does -10%? shouldn’t it be 15%?…or maybe i just remember wrong about initial values?
It was -20% before the update
I don’t really see this making FAN equally effective as the scattergun, because the basic flaws are still there (have to reload often, knockback is often undesireable)
But for those moments where the FAN already was decent, this makes it a bit more valuable and a good buff.
letting the scout get behind you without you knowing about it is fail :(
like u havnt done that before :DD
it was -20% damage and +20% pellets, bringing a total of 94% damage compared to the scattergun
if a 100% pellets do a 100% damage
surely 20% more pellets would do 120% damage
edit: looks like i can’t base of the normal scatter twice if you base calculations on the scatter itself instead of ramping them up it ends up with doing the same amount of damage, which according to tf2wiki is wrong. and i’ll just take it that site is right, i cba to investigate in game.
Sorry if my maths is fail but:
Say a full meatshot with scatter does 100 dmg, and the scatter fires 10 bullets (just as an example).
That means that 1 pellet does 10 dmg.If FaN was 20% less dmg, then 1 pellet does 8 dmg?
So with 20% more pellets, the FaN fires 12 pellets.
12 pellets at 8 dmg each would be 96 damage.
These are just examples, and idk if that actually makes sense or i’ve made something up along the way, someone confirm for me :D
(so now, with “9” damage per pellet, FaN can do 108% damage per shot where scatter can do 100%.
This isnt counting that they enemy gets knocked back by the first shot unless pinned against a wall so that the 2nd shot doesnt do full damage, and that if you miss one of your shots you’re fcked)

That’s pretty much correct, FaN used to do a bit less damage than scatter.
