April 30th, 2009 – Team Fortress 2 Update Released

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

New Gameplay Features
– Gave the Demoman an afro, slightly overpowering him more.
New Gameplay Bugs
– The Demo’s afro takes up a huge amount of RAM because it is so very large, minimum system requirements are now at least 64GB of RAM.

Restart steam! Its the much needed vaccine for the earlier swine flu infected patch.
This little piggie went wee wee wee all the way home.

Whomever posted it on the linux hlds-list needs to be shot. Seriously. If it was one of you — DON’T DO IT AGAIN! One of the few ways we have to communicate with Valve in a mature manner, getting hammered by IDIOT-KIDS having problems starting their game, is ridiculous and lame at best.

I presume nobody takes offense for the strong wording and just nods and agrees, since it really hampers growth with posts like this on a list populated mainly by people actually having tf2 as a business (thus, selling and sponsoring servers to the community).

I’d like to write this on the mailinglist as well, but that’d just fuel the fire.

Can’t get it working either.
