Yeah that sounds pretty screwed up. Changing a fundamental aspect of the game.
EDIt: Misread and thought there was no ammo. Still not too keen on the idea of it but doesn’t really negatively affect things.
Overall a really positive update. Apart from over nerfing the engineer causing a mini-sentry meta.

hopefully this won’t apply to ubercharge % or else shit just hit the fan
hope, there will be cvar to disable that wep dropping/picking up, imagine finding a direct hit near the blands spire

It seems valve wants to balance the game for the matchmaking update.
Also with the new weapon cases, we could see our own eSports case, eh?
Changes for highlander.
Loch n load unbanned
Pretty boys pocket pistol unbanned
Enforcer unbanned
Spy as a class significantly stronger. Gun spy nerfed significantly.
Spycicle nerfed to a reasonable place.
Kunai and big earner possibly viable. Big earner could be banned.
Dead ringer possibly not usable any more.
Engineer in highlander significantly weaker.
Minis when wrangled are stronger while level 3s wrangled significantly weaker.
Tomislav Heavy possibly viable. Brass beast possibly viable.
A heavy can’t be headshot in one shot with brass beast or natascha.
Pyros can use a secondary that isn’t shotgun without being weaker at killing spies

They clearly went overboard for the sake of overboard.
Someone in Valve took the time to sit down, code and write this:
Solomn Vow
Added 10% attack speed penalty
And they misspelled the unlock’s name. Someone thought “yea, this is a balanced change” and did it without any other second of thought put into it.

Some of the changes seemed unnecessary, especially the dead ringer, but some were really needed like the spycicle and loch n load. IDK. Can’t expect a valve update to be perfect. But from a pyro main perspective I’m happy they’re motivating spies to play knife and watch rather than DR and gun – the way some spies were turning the class into a second sniper was just ridiculous. And the detonator jump buff might be really fun.
About the weapon pickups, someone on twitch mentioned possibly being able to pick up the enemy medic’s medigun if you kill him as a situationally useful pickup, but otherwise I think the whole thing is a gimmick that will have no impact in comp.
BTW, all the skins showcased look awful. But I think the same of australium weapons and most unusuals and people still buy them so idk

finally they did something major
You can even change loadouts on the fly!
Will you be able to switch to kritz after an uuber push ? or vaccinator and do an insta-repush ? gunboats to mid – switch to shotty or conch ? WHAT THE FUCK
why there is no direct hit nerf? i mean this weapon can kill every 125hp class in one hit on close range.
