Hello i’m planning on getting a ticket but only a one day pass!
What date/time is the tf2 6s competitions actually being played? or is it trough out the weekend if so whats the best date to get the full tf2 action?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Ducky
Friday has all the group stage matches (7 rounds from the invite group stage).
Saturday has all knockout matches excluding the Grand Final.
Sunday has the grand final.
I’d recommend Saturday as that is probably the most exciting (teams actually get knocked out), and as proven by i52 the grand final can be rubbish.
As for the time, on Saturday it usually runs very late into the night (01:00 am ish) and starts fairly early in the morning (?). Think we played our first game at 10am on the Saturday at i52.

Didn’t they withdraw the spectator passes so you can now only get into the halls if you have a BYOC ticket?
EDIT: other than the mainstage, you can still go there

Can you watch them play on a basic one day ticket on Saturday? a buddy of mine said this:
“bear in mind you have to sneak in if you want to see the tf2 games
since they don’t do spectator anymore
you can only see the main stage
tf2 will only be on the main stage on sunday for the final
otherwise you have to buy a byoc ticket to get in”
I’m a tad confused now!

I dont know if there’s a difference with the one day spect ticket, but I sent an email to Multiplay and they said with a weekend spectator ticket you can go in gaming halls np

Didn’t the semi finals get dragged out a whole bunch because of mixup taking long breaks?

Yeah, but there are always some sort of delays and things which slow the event down. You can expect it to run late either way.
Quick update i messaged “Multiplay” and they responded with this:

Hello Michael,
I’m afraid that day visitors cannot access the BYOC halls where the heats will be played.
Day visitors can access the esports stage where the finals will be played on Sunday (time TBC).
You would require at least a weekend festival ticket to access the BYOC halls but we would not recommend buying this simply to spectate as there is not enough room for spectators in the halls. We are also unable to tell you where in the halls the teams will chose to sit.
The tournament schedule has not been finalised, this will appear under https://insomniagamingfestival.com/i55/tournaments/ when it is.

I hope this helps clears up the confusion as it did for me!
Thanks for your help guys

not really true, they check it everytime the first days then they get sick of it and you can just walk in

I would rather be safe than sorry. Its my first time going to an event like this alone so i would rather be a good little boy and follow the rules then getting caught out :)
