Competitive server lag

So somewhere around last year, i was about to play a mix with my friends, and when the countdown to the begining of the match reached 1, my screen froze for around 6 seconds, i thought it was just some normal typical lag. During the entire mix i had 200+ ping. The next day, we did it again, but i still had 200+ ping all the time. Then i joined a pub, but it was fine there, no lag ping below 70, fps above 300. From that pub i connected to a mix, and bam 200+ ping. From that day i couldnt play comp. anymore, i could still play pubs, but no pugs/mixes whatsoever that is related to competitive. During the summer i got a new computer, and i tryed it again. still had 200+ ping so i stopped. I thought it was my horrible internet speed, so on christmas i got a better speed (8mb/s). Most normal servers i joined had 60-70 ping for me, but when i joined a pug, bam, instant 200+ ping. I seriously have no idea whats going on, pugs should work for me with my current net speed with atlest 80 ping, but i have no idea why its skipping above 200. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do, please writte your idea here or add me on steam.

Ping these four servers so we can get a clearer image of your problem, the first two are comp servers, and the last two are pubs, all are located in France or Germany.
I’m pretty sure that mp_tournament, configs, whitelists or source tv’s have nothing to do with latency.

Do you use P-REC? The lag in the beginning of the match is typical for P-REC and it doesn’t stop until you jump/crouch.
Can you also tell if you had the huge lag during the warm up, or you started lagging after both teams have readied up? If the second is true, then try removing P-REC.
You can also try to join your own server, type in console mp_tournament 1 and ready up for both teams, and see if something happens.

The problem is, i never start laging untill i join the server, if i just look at the latency thru server info it just shows normaly 70 ping-ish. The problem is untill i join the server, thats where i always started to lag

I used P-REC when i still had the old computer, i dont use P-REC now. Also, i lag in the warm up and when the match started.

Also, all of the servers show me 60 latency thru server info.

Are you sure the mixes you played were European?

Yep, because if they werent, the rest of my friends would have massive lag aswell

So you’ve changed PC’s and I guess you’ve changed accounts as well. Do configs do anything for you? have you tried logging on your account at LAN with other TF2 players?

I havent tryed playing on diffrent accounts, might aswell try that later when any pugs are availebel. Also, i only have chrises max fps config + viewmodel configs which i made around 3 weeks ago. Every lan ive went to there weren’t any TF2 players, or they werent really into the game.

še vedno siol? Čeprav nima dost veze me vseen zanima
Yep. Sej buljse povezave kokr mam zdej je nemogoce dobit ker nimam optike, zatu ni vazn al mam siol alpa ksn T2 oz. T4
Well, i did try to play on my other acc. but the same thing happened. Now the only thing that i might thing is possible for this lag are any unnecessary add-on files from diffrent servers or that my tf files are messed up.
i know you changed your entire pc so its not likely to be a hardware issue, but check for driver updates anyway – is there anything in your device manager that says it isnt installed properly? is there anything in your current pc that you also had in your old pc?
you say you got a new internet connection so it cant be related to that, but did you also get a new router or have anything else in your network setup that hasn’t changed? perhaps an old hub or switch? wired or wireless? tried both?
have you tried deleting all your configs (and hud + other addons) and playing with 100% vanilla settings? (remember to turn off steam cloud sync before you delete your configs, otherwise steam will just download your settings again) (also don’t forget to make a backup of your configs if they have any value to you)
