Sure, that was a joke.
However, the sniper update is not a joke :

They say it is going to be the largest update so far with several new maps !
read somewhere that a possible unlock for sniper is a spray/poster he puts up, then after a kill on deathcam it zooms up to the poster instead of the sniper himself, keeping his position secret.
I remember the game Star Trek:Elite force.
There you had the possibility to create a hologram of yourself to fool the enemies.
This would be very useful for the sniper in TF2.
Oh wow. Valve promoting fragvids on their website. A further sign of favor for the competetive community, surely? And talking about ‘a bunch of gameplay tweaks’ in the update after having asked both the european and american competetive communites what they’d like to see changed?
Gonna put it out there; I like the sound of that a lot.
