Steam Pipe for TF2 has not been implemented yet.

just go to the menu and change it to -steampipe, and then again to normal and it will work :)

I presume you’re on a pretty slow computer? Because I actually load maps faster than that without using Steam Pipe.

The few servers I joined I didn’t find the map loading much faster. The game itself starts ridiculously fast though, less than 10 seconds from desktop to active main menu.
The small patch that was just released made the Steampipe Beta compatible with the main version of the game. So everyone can use it to play on regular servers now.

Faster map loading etc looks great but whats with fps? This update do something to get more fps?
Just a heads up, SMAC is banning SteamPipe clients.

The functionality of sv_consistency has been combined with sv_pure as part of the SteamPipe change.

thanks Miek .
just got banned from a random british pub for cheating lol
this is gay
Took the opportunity to reinstall tf2 to my ssd when I switched to steam pipe and it now loads from desktop to server in 15 seconds. I haven’t noticed any fps changes but from what I’ve read it’s better optimised for systems where the CPU is the bottleneck.

I have a pretty new ssd and I dont usually connect that fast even though im almost always the first in a server. Steam pipe seems cool.

I am using Steam Pipe BETA now and I don’t see the difference between loadings. It still takes long :/
