TF2 sometimes doesn't open

Hi
Sometimes its fine, but then other times it will get to the screen where you choose a server for 1 second then it’ll close but my profile will say I’m in game. Doesn’t seem to be any way to fix this, its just luck.
Any ideas?

When i connect to a server right after starting steam, hl2.exe will always chew up the same amount of RAM, tf2 will never launch and steam will think i’m in tf2.
I’ve had a similar problem that also happens whenever I connect to a server.
Only that tf2 doesn’t close, it just disappears from my taskbar and I’m still able to alt+tab into it.

i had this issue i while back it was caused by chris fps config i just deleted it launched tf2 closed tf2, but the cfg back in and re launched and all was good
