How do into twitch

Well, I used to be a pretty decent and consistent sniper/scout. I went on vacation for 5 days and got back, and when I got back, I of course had to get used to playing again since my sensitivity felt really fast and playing was generally awkward. I’ve tried it before – don’t play for some days, get back, practise your ass off, become good again. But not this time.
Now it’s 3 months later and my aim still sucks ass. My tracking is actually better and I do fine with pistol/heavy/whatever, but my twitching is still fucked up in every way, and I have no idea how or if I will ever get my aim back. I’ve practised a shitload, tried making my sens slower/faster, changed crosshair, fiddling around with interp to see if I could make the shitty hitreg less shitty, but well….fuck this. Playing sniper or scout is so frustrating when I know I used to do so much better and I want to live up to those expectations of my own.
I’ve tried not playing for weeks, and when I get back, all it takes is a few days of playing a lot and my aim and prediction is back at it’s original level again. So how the fuck is it possible to suddenly lose countless years of muscle memory completely because you’re gone for 5 days? Has anyone else ever tried something like this, or am I just a weird fuck?
And yes, my mouse polling rate, mousepad, fps and other mumbojumbo are all fine.

What did you do during this 5 days? And also could it just be that you are playing better opponents or that you expect yourself to be better than you actually are?

i’m a shitnoob myself and not a superhero like you are or at least used to be, but how do you expect to get consistent muscle memory when you don’t play with consistent settings? ;)
Well, pretty much just relaxed. Didn’t do anything unusual as far as I remember?
And I’m pretty sure my expectations are as they used to be. Sometimes I have trouble with players who barely try to dodge, and I definately did not have that before that small vacation.
I can’t really say much about the opponents’ skill level, since I recently left my highlander team and the 6’s team I’m starting isn’t quite done yet, so I mostly just play non-retarded pubs, SoapDM and lobbies right now. But I can say that I used to do much better in sniper-vs-sniper wars, which is where the impact seems to have hit the hardest.
I also know that all the close-range bullshit are mostly somewhat lucky miracle shots against good opponents, but I still used to get them maybe 10% of the time, and now it’s more like 1%.
@ryse: Well, the first 1½ month I didn’t change any settings. Changing sens and the like was pretty much a desperation move, and after I realized it didn’t help anything, I went back to the original sens, which I have been using for probably 3 weeks now, and I’ve been playing way too much during those 3 weeks lol

I should probably mention that sometimes if I get one good headshot/meatshot, I will go on a streak where I just seem to hit everything perfectly for a while, and then I start failing again. It’s rare though, but it must mean that I still have it in me, I just need to find a way to be more consistent with it again, which is what I’m failing to do :(

Might sound really stupid to some people , but I had this problem some time ago. Basically find your perfect settings and if your twitching is bad just squeeze your mouse (not as hard as you can , but not so light) and try again.
I’ve had the same problem 2 months ago. I went away for 2 weeks and when I got back it was not the same anymore. I also had this ‘my sens is too high’ feeling and I lost my skill in every class. I kept playing mge and it took way too long to get to the same level. Untill I realised it was all in my head. When you say to yourself: I’m playing bad, you will go play bad. Try to not care and it will become better. At least for me

To Freddy:
I can pretty much confirm that, at least when I had a problem that seems similar to yours. If you’re in a bad mood or expect the worst, this is probably what you’re going to get. Staying positive and calm usually helps me improve my performance a lot.
At least this is what works for me.

I don’t usually think anything before I start playing though, I would actually say I don’t really care. I’m not sure if it’s my mindset which is the problem, because it usually goes like this:
1. Start game
2. Play game
3. Miss some shots, hit some shots. I don’t really think too much about it
4. The number of missed easy shots start increasing
5. THEN I start thinking “wtf is this shit” and do even worse
My mindset usually only becomes a problem when I do terribly for an extended amount of time, and the failing aim is the REASON that I do terribly for an extended amount of time.
It’s not just small adjustsments I need to make, sometimes I’m actually pretty far from hitting my target, whereas I would have done the same kind of twitch and have been spot-on before that 5 day break.
I can’t image that someone who posts a thread like this doesn’t think about play good or bad in the beginning.
Just keep calm practise alot and your aim will be back. I seriously think that you might be a bit too nervous because your subcounscious tells you that your aim isnt what it used to be and you get nervous and starting missing shots. Just stay calm and keep you mind clear. Its not the end of the world if you get killed in dm:p i hope this somewhat helps you and that you got my point
